Who do you think the most badass video game villain is? Post who and why.
For me it's Psycho Mantis. He's not just crazy, he's insane! He has psychic powers, and he can even talk to you from in the game and 'make' your controller move.
He knows if you have a memory card or not, he controls innocent girls(particularly people who are related to Campbell), and he probably eats babies too.

Thanatos from Secret of Mana. Not only is he really a giant Lich, but he wants to use the power of the Mana Fortress to rule the world -- even if it is destroyed.
Probably about on par with Kefka harnessing the powers of the Espers, and actually breaking the world into pieces.

Psycho Mantis? All he really did was read your mind and half-assidly tried to kill her. In my mind, that's a pretty soft villain. He doesn't even have much character development anyway. Screaming Mantis is slightly better in my mind. She can read minds, she was the one controlling the B&B to do those evil deeds, she was the one who sent an army of the dead to try and kill you. SOFT VILLAIN?! Play Metal Gear Solid 4 then talk to me. |

Kefka is the Joker of Final Fantasy, people can laugh at his outward appearance as a clown, but he has no sympathy for human life, in fact he hates it, quoting Kefka, "Hope, love, these things I will destroy!" I haven't played the game all the way through in a while, so I can't remember if he was particularly deep. Kefka fits the description of a badass villian, according to your standards. |

~Kreia (KotOR 2) [one of the most cunning villians I've seen in ages. She pulls off the insanity card but is cunning enough to make even being beaten part of her overall plan]
~Sion (KotOR 2) [come on... someone who bathes in pain and kicks ass just HAS to be here]
~John DeFoe (5 days a stranger and sequels) [Also pretty self-explanatory]
~Heigou (Sudeki) [He is BY FAR The best villian I have EVER seen. He has a bunch of cool moves too.
Worst

dementio is the best villain in the whole series. and through the whole game i thought he was really just acting and was actually a good guy.
Also, Ashnard from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Need i a reason?
