I managed to talk to a staff member at unfungames (he claims to pretty much run it now). He has this to say about a third version of MPC:
Levus says: *ah that explains it *Well I have a question about Mario Paint Composer? Kosa says: *yes? Levus says: *Will there ever be a third version? Kosa says: *Probably not at this point, I could always ask rob though. *hes been busy with his new game

It would be nice to strike a key to go up an octave and strike another key to go down an octave when necessary. That would save me on some of my compositions. Then again, it would kind of kill one of MPC's challenging limits. Just a thought, I guess.

It's been said before, but one thing I REALLY want is a copy and paste function... And maybe an option to delete/replace all of a certain instrument. It would help a lot in experimenting and revamping.
AMS is frustrating due to lack of arrow keys to scroll across the song, and I really DO like splitting songs into certain parts so I can repeat parts that need repeating. It's gotta be a nightmare looping a song that doesn't start from the beginning... 0_o

Here's what i've got to say:
1. pihrannas, coins, boos, and shyguys need to be louder
2. increase 5 note per beat limit
3. some kind of recording option of video and/or audio

That you can edit songs in Arranger mode would be very handy.

This is the list what I want in MPC V3: 1. More sounds ;D 2. Ability to Mario Painted .mp3 songs 3. SoundFont didn't need to renamed to soundset3.sf2. Just give it a random name 4. Ability to record songs 5. Type the tempo, not pressing the + button until find the right tempo (e.g: You need the tempo is 1205, You don't need to press the + button, just type it in the tempo box)

I'd honestly just want a v2.1 at this point.
One with more stability because a lot of sounds will glitch up occasionally. Perhaps a wider range of dynamic contrast with the green bars (as well as a completely silent one).
I really don't want any big changes. I'm too used to what I've got I guess, lol

A better view of the whole file would be nice (like zoom in/out) and a faster scroll (just annoying things, nothing that makes you think for alternative options)

I've got more.
1. A FREAKING MESSAGE SAYING "Are you sure you want to save over this file?"
2. Larger note range (higher than high C and/or lower than low B)
3. Add another instrument or two
4. Individual note volumes/cutoffs (ik, that may be really hard to do and kinda unrealistic, but it would be helpful to me in some cases)
5. EVERYTHING THAT REHD'S FRIGGIN AWESOME ASS PROGRAM DOES (MPCtxtTools)

I think a pause option for arranger mode already have been said, right?
Also, copy & paste option in arranger mode could have been handy too...

UnFun Games recently posted a sequel to Mario Paint Composer called "Arcade County Composer". It's not really a true sequel but is rather interesting.
