What do you want to see unFun add? Please, no new instruments unless you really think it's a great idea.
I think an "export to midi" "mp3" or "wav" function would be extremely awesome ;D

Well, I've come to think as FordPrefect's new program as the Mairo Paint V3. And there's a lot of awesome new things on that.

If every instrument was the same volume, it would be nice. There are some instruments that noticably drown out others.

Though it was mentioned as a joke, I think, palette change would be awesome.
Other than that, not really much. You can't do much more without it being too advanced, and with the guy developing the Mario Paint Assistant, and AMS in development I think we're fine.

I've noticed that the Boo and Coin have a sustain ability on 'em. You can notice this on Satoshi's Orchestra 1.08. The coins (low octave car) will hold out the entire note value throughout a series of pitch-changes. Same with Boo. If there was a way to control this as an option of some sort, I'd be happier.

Now lets not get too far into this stuff. These is the exact kind of options that would ruin Mario Paint composer

Not necessarily. You can just edit the sounds to where, say, a piano is set for Boo; that would sustain it just the same, like if you were holding the pedal down on a grand.

I'd like to see a feature where you could move notes to another beat.
It's a painstaking and time-consuming task to erase notes and put new ones on a different beat.

Copypasta. I'm working on armed boss from SMRPG, and the same percussion repeats every measure, and there's A TON. I'm getting tired of putting down 50 notes for 1 measure...copypasta would work FINE.

All I would like to see with v3 is no more note limitations. Soundfont designs have a wide keyboard range available when you see it on Viena, I'd like to see that into effect on MPC. It's annoying when there's a high F you can't play with the square wave because you have to either tamper with the octave range, or put it an octave lower, which cheapens the quality of the piece you're working on. That's my only beef with the limitations.

That's my only beef with the limitations. Possibly. But do not forget that one of the greatest points of MPC is challenge. Here are the 'challenges' Limited Instruments Limited Note Range 5 notes per beat Limited volume control Limited volume control can be avoided by using alternative soundfonts or dickspeed. Limited Instruments can be avoided by using soundfonts. 5 notes per beat can be avoided by using dickspeed. That leaves only one challenge left - limited note range. If you remove that difficulty, it's not mario paint anymore.

If you remove that difficulty, it's not mario paint anymore. And even that limited note range can be worked around very easily in Viena. I've done it in several of my latest compositions. The only problem with doing this is that if you need to sustain a really high note, the higher instruments don't last as long. Other than that, it's a cinch.

well, like in my project, you will eventually run out of spaces to put those new ranges.

This is one of the things where I think, "Nah, I'm good." I also thought that about V1, but then the magic of Arranger appeared. Likewise, I would like to see features that ease the composing process. Copy/cut and paste, taking out the annoying bugs like High C# and low Bb, mute notes that function like glitch notes but not as glitchy, an UNDO button, a save warning, ability to resize the window, sorting of songs in MPC (ABC, Mod date, Create date, etc), not cause so much lag, easier tempo mod., and *perhaps* fix the coins and boos.

Save warning! Brilliant! That would've saved my ass on numerous occasions. And fixing the high C# and low Bb would be super great. Other than that, I'm not sure if much more is necessary.

About the note range....
I would at LEAST like to see it go from Low Bb (unchanged) to High Bb (Bb6)
That would be much better.
It makes most compositions easier, but it's STILL Mario Paint. (There are some songs that go extremely high, don't ask for examples)

I think there still needs to be a limit. Making it much higher would take certain limits out of the program.
Rehd, I believe I've read that post at least three times before.

All of Kace's suggestions, except the boo/coin fix, I agree with and would love to see them come into reality.
I like the after ring on the boos and coins, makes it easier to add notes to a chord over a few beats without accenting it.
