Hi folks, this new 0.3 release fixes some bugs in the 0.2 release (which I released 2 days ago ). It doesn't have any new features - I just wanted to have a less buggy release up. Download link is still: www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=b46c52f041c1b1f791b20cc0d07ba4d269ec631b362f1bdfChangelog: bugfixes: - animation doesn't stop at high tempi - fixed SoundFont list to load the SoundFont that's selected - imports low As from MPC files as stoppers - erasing removes the uppermost note for multiple notes at the same position I couldn't really test the low A feature, because I don't have any file that makes use of the low A glitch, and the current MPC version doesn't run on my Mac at all, so I can't create one. If this feature doesn't work well, please let me know. There's one issue I know about: If you use the glitch for stopping multiple notes, there have to be multiple stopper notes, which would be a problem if the overall amount of required notes exceeds the 6 note limit. In that case, as many stoppers as possible will be added. (It's unlikely that you encounter that case - you'd need 3 notes to be stopped and the stopper chord needs to have all 5 notes the MPC allows in it.)

Sweet. Now I can properly import MPC songs.
Oh and, MPC 2 dosn't work on apple Macs?

I would like to report a bug. This is probably very crucial to fix. At any high tempo (1500+) All of the notes will not play. I imported a song from MPC 2 that had a tempo of 2700 (dickspeed) and barely any of the notes played! This is needed to be fixed!

As I'm not a dickspeed user myself, I don't have any material to test this properly. Savvn : MPC 2 has a Mac version. But it crashes at startup, and the guys at unfun games don't care about it. They probably don't have a Mac themselves and just rely on Adobe Director to compile it properly for Mac... you know, that's why I started to develop my own Mario Paint clone in the first place.

Also, the low A glitch is fine when it gets imported. It comes in as a muted note. And the speedmarks are awsome. Now you can go to insane tempos and back in one file.

I know its a little late, but can I add a few suggestions?
Maybe you could have something like a checkpoint marker so you could import multiple MPC files in a row. It would be like you import one file, then you could place the checkpoint at where you want to upload the next MPC file (if you do this, have the program prompt you to upload the next file AFTER you select where the checkpoint will be) and the beginning of the newly uploaded file would start at the checkpoint (and if the new file has a different tempo, the checkpoint would automatically turn into a speedmark with the file's correct tempo.)
Maybe you could also add some sort of a soundmark so you could have the song automatically change soundfonts at a point where you want the soundfonts to change.
Maybe you could include these ideas in the final version. I'm sure others would love to have these implemented in the AMS.

I think the most obvious feature to add next would be to automatically import an arrangement

This is definitely a viable alternative to MPC now. I can't think of any real reason to use MPC over this now, except for the added challenge and the familiar interface.

Dickspeeds are glitched. They sometimes drop notes. I also suggest you make it so pressing the arrow buttons moves the scroll bar, not change the soundfont.

When I use a speed of 4000+, it works fine but 2/3 if the notes don't make any noise.
Okay, so I'm doing a song, and I have the same instrument (Boos) and I have 2 Boos on one line, and then 1 boo on the other. Whenever it comes time for the lone boo to play, it cuts off the rest of the boos. Is it possible to turn it on/off, or maybe turn it on/off in certain spots (like the Book/Speedmarks)
Anyways, I absolutely love it. I think this might be my main program rather than MPC. Great job.

I've noticed that some of my MPC files don't import, namely the ones that take up the entire staff on MPC2.0. I keep getting the error message saying that it isn't an mpc file.

Is it possible to turn it on/off, or maybe turn it on/off in certain spots (like the Book/Speedmarks) That's one thing I thought about too. I noticed that the MPC does the same thing with every instrument EXCEPT FOR the Boos. Most of the time I found this rather annoying, so I treated the Boos like everything else. But it seems to be a good idea to have something like a "pedal mark" (for those who play the piano) that keeps notes playing until their Soundfont wave ends or a stopper comes. I'll think about that. RehdBlob: Could you send me a file that doesn't import so I can locate the bug?

The coins and boos both did not cut off properly, acting like a Low Bb or a High C# in any other instrument. Their Low Bb and High C# cut off themselves, but no other notes however.

(I forgot to use the "load soundfont" feature rather than renaming the original soundfont, Stupid me.) One thing I dont understand is that changing the name of the soundset file "MarioPaintOringinal" dosen't change a thing.
