Do you get an error message? Oh, sorry about that. It just found out it works. (I forgot to use the "load soundfont" feature rather than renaming the original soundfont, Stupid me.) One thing I dont understand is that changing the name of the soundset file "MarioPaintOringinal" dosen't change a thing. When you use the AMS for the first time, it copies the MarioPaintOriginal file to your Application Data folder, where all the other SoundFonts are also copied to. After the files have been copied, the source files are not needed anymore. Therefore, changing the MarioPaintOriginal.sf2 file doesn't change a thing if you have already run the AMS once. (btw, this is done per user, so if you log in as another user, the AMS would use the replaced MarioPaintOriginal file if you replaced it. And another user also has to import his own SoundFonts and doesn't have access to those you have imported.)

Oh, for those of you who manually edit text files: make sure that there are 384 chords (":") in it or else it won't import. Of course, you could just wait for the next beta...

First time I've used this program. Good stuff for sure! Can't wait to see the finished product!
Just a few suggestions if I may:
--After running a few different songs, I noticed that if a lot of instruments were used at full volume all at once, there is a distorted buzzing sound that you hear. Toning down the full volume may help, and, being used to having a recently placed note at full volume at default, having the volume bar halfway down automatically is a little awkward. --I loved the arrangement feature in MPC for two reasons: It allowed for near seamless playing of song sections without having to record every single part and edit it together in a movie. And moreover, if a certain part repeated, you could just cut and paste it into the arrangement again without having to redo the part in the program. A tool like that would be very handy.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned these before as I haven't read through all the threads, but those are what I've noticed so far. Regardless, good work!

Oh yeah, I asked the same question in another thread and FordPrefect said,
So yeah I think that answers it.

The coins and boos both did not cut off properly, acting like a Low Bb or a High C# in any other instrument. Their Low Bb and High C# cut off themselves, but no other notes however. Yeah, that! I was working on a song w/ extremely low boos, and all of the notes carried over. Iz teh frustrating. Fix, pl0x?

Whenever you use a soundfont that doesn't have all it presets (read: instruments) filled in, it fills in the rest of the presets with the next soundfont on the list. Does this bother you as you won't use those instruments that aren't in the soundfont anyway? @km: You're talking of the MPC, right? The AMS cuts any boo and coin when the next note of the same instrument comes.

It would be awesome if there was a copy/paste option where you could copy and paste one instrument's area notes. For example, you could highlight a section of boats and copy them then paste them on to the staff. That would save alot of time because some songs have drum loops or bass loops that keep playing and rather than having to do one riff over and over again in mario paint you could copy the section then paste it so its one looping part.

I know there is much need of copy & paste. But this is very difficult to implement, as I need an algorithm for selecting a bunch of notes (all notes / only one type of notes - how many chords - what to do if you want to select more chords than the number that is displayed in the windows, etc). Even known notation applications such as Finale Notepad often have problems with copy & paste. This definitily won't come in v1.0, but may be an option for future versions...

I also like the way that it doesn't overlap clicking. Remember how if MPC was minimized and you clicked in the region that it was previously there, and a note got placed? It's a good thing that worry is gone.

It's a good thing that worry is gone. Yeah, that still happens, but you don't hear it. Can that be fixed? Because in MPC thats annoying....

To select more than is displayed you could use the same strategy as windows explorer: select one chord, then scroll and shift+click another chord to select everything in between.

You can bypass the no jumping Mario if you use a speedmark, even over 500.
Other than that, looks great.

Hey I've got one suggestion, could you maybe make the max note per beat to maybe 8 or 10? People keep using dickspeed to break these limitations and dickspeed doesn't work as good in AMS as it does in MPC (at least not for me).

People keep using dickspeed to break these limitations and dickspeed doesn't work as good in AMS as it does in MPC (at least not for me). There's some bug in AMS that prevents some notes from playing at high tempos. When that's fixed, dickspeed should work fine.
