IT'S FINALLY HERE!!! After much frustration and patience (and a bit of slacking off), I finally finished Ocarina of Paint v.1.2! There are two different variations! You can grab them (along with the two previous versions) here:
www.mediafire.com/?l3k04w0zogagl
I managed to shrink v.1.1. It should be 4.29MB now and is titled v.1.1.1. So if you have v.1.1, toss it and download this instead.
Here's the changelog for Ocarina of Paint v.1.2.0:
Fixed volume on most instruments Switched around some instruments to match Mario Paint's most common settings Fixed last 3 notes on harp and raised it by one octave Added 4 new instruments, 1 of which is an enhanced version of the original Removed MusicBox, SFX, and Trumpet (I dislike MusicBox, there's no use for SFX, and Trumpet already had a decent volume) Flute is an octave higher (as requested by one of my YouTube followers) One new and improved instrument: Strings Three brand new instruments: Makar's Violin (as requested from Mario Paint Hangout), Goron City (as requested from YouTube), and Japas's Bass (as requested from both sites!)
I also put up v.1.2.1, in which the flute and the harp are not raised one octave
Here's the list of instruments:
Mario: Ocarina Mushroom: Percussion *MOVED* Yoshi: Flute *FIXED* Star: Marimba Flower: Trumpet *MOVED* GameBoy: Goron City *NEW* Dog: Strings *IMPROVED* Cat: Pizzicato *FIXED* Pig: Darmani's Drums *MOVED* Swan: Male Choir Face: Malon Plane: Mikau's Guitar Ship: Clarinet *MOVED* Car: Deku Pipes *MOVED* Heart: Japas's Bass *NEW* Coin: Celest Piranha Plant: Oboe Shy Guy: Makar's Violin *NEW* Boo: Medli's Harp *FIXED*
Btw, I'm gonna make a demonstration video as soon as I can, so look out for that, too.
Coming this far really surprises me. I didn't think I could do it. Soon after I make a video for this, I'm going to stop making New soundfonts. I am working on mods for games like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and Mario Kart Wii. I might still remake a few songs in Mario Paint. Anyways, that's all for now, I'll catch ya later. ???Did ya find any secrets?

HERE IS VERSION 1.0. SCROLL DOWN FURTHER FOR VERSION 1.1!It took less than a day to complete, but it's finally here! For all you Zeda fans, I give you... (drumroll) Ocarina of Paint! www.megaupload.com/?d=EJ0P8106I'd like thank HelpTheWretched for his awesome database of sounds (go to noproblo.dayjo.org/ZeldaSounds/#OOT to see for yourself), and I hope people enjoy this soundfont (tested and it works!) But seriously, why didn't anyone else think of this?

Welcome to the forum This is a good idea ...but.. I see this SF more of a "toy" to play around rather than an usable SF to make a variety of songs. In my opinion you could place all those sound effects (frog, horse navi..) in one instrument, that way you would have room to put more usable instruments like bass, drums, cymbals, timpanis, strings and stuff like that.

Well I think this is just an absolute joy. All of the different animal sounds are really funny and navi is just classic. I like how it's organized.

I agree with this. I see this soundfont being used to compose original compositions more than used for recreating music. Sounds really cool, though.

In my opinion you could place all those sound effects (frog, horse navi..) in one instrument, that way you would have room to put more usable instruments like bASS, drums, cymbals, timpanis, strings and stuff like that. You're right, but I'm kind of new to creating SFs, this being my first one, and after using up all the instruments, I ran out of ideas and added animal/Navi sounds instead. I will put the dog, horse, cow, cuccoo, and Navi, as well as a few extra SFX in one preset. The frog, however, will remain as a standalone instrument as the frogs in OOT/MM could sing. If anyone finds a wind waker or wolf link howling sound, please provide a link to them. I'll make v.1.1 when I find enough instruments to fill in the blanks. I suck at finding the audio samples I need, though, so I may have to resort to using another soundfont's.

All right, people. Version 1.1 is on it's way, with improved instruments. The Ocarina sound effect will be replaced by the musical ocarina that played when you completed a song and loops longer (as well as the deku pipes). I'll use any free time (which isn't much, what with college homework and everything) for my soundfont.
The next day... (just following forum rules and fixing a double-post)
Okay as soon as i finish studying for tomorrows test, i'll get to work on the soundfont. Still wondering what to do with the extra 9 slots. I guess I'll put in a timpani, a snare, and a sound that is similar to the goron noise in the goron city song, a marimba, and whatever else I can find online that i like. btw if you have suggestions, im open to them. i check this site regularly, so i'll probably be able to read your suggestion before i release the final product. Right now i'm relying on a soundfont (NON MPC COMPATIBLE) with some insruments from OOT, but not all, and not in perfect quality, so if anyone finds a good instrument sf, please tell me the website.

Are you using Matthew Valente's Ocarina of Time soundfont? If not, you should check it out; he's extracted some good samples.
Anyway, keep up the good work! XD

Are you using Matthew Valente's Ocarina of Time soundfont? If not, you should check it out; he's extracted some good samples. Anyway, keep up the good work! XD Yes. I am currently using his sf for version 1.1 and I give most credit to him, but I changed a few things, like the pizzicato. I tried using an alternate strings sf, but when I lowered the root key to raise the octave, I botched the sound, so I stuck to MV's strings. I switched out my ocarina for his, as well as the malon voice. I also replaced the bottom two notes (G#&A) with his goron voice (so you need AMS to use it). For all of you who might get mad at me for using mostly this soundfont, don't. This is my first soundfont, as well as my first time using viena, and I barely have time to look for good sf to use that i can edit. I'll post the new BETA* once I put in four more instruments (Clarinet, Oboe, Male Singers, and if I find enough sounds, Percussion) and post it on Mega Upload. Then after I post the link here, I'll post a demo video on YouTube. I only wish people would get more excited about this sf, so plz tell all the mpc's/ams's you know and tell them to look up allav866's channel, and if it isnt posted yet, subscribe (you might not have to worry about that, though. I'm almost done!) *I call it a beta because i feel like i can put more work into it during winter vacation. Btw Gallahaut, I'm very impressed with your piano soundfont. Keep it up!

YOU CAN STOP SCROLLING NOW. HERE IS VERSION 1.1!Sorry, Levi, for double posting. This time it can't be helped. Well it took a week, if even that much, but the new Ocarina of Paint Beta version 1.1 is finally up. You can download it here: www.megaupload.com/?d=HOST0VQDIf you want to see it in action first, or would like to know what I put in it, go here to watch my video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2lP-pVo_jMI'd really like to thank everyone for their input. If you could help me out further and tell as many people about this soundfont as you can, I'd be extremely grateful. On a side note: THIS IS STILL NOT FINISHED!!! I need help figuring out how to edit the volume of instrument splits using Viena (not Vienna). I won't be able to work on this soundfont anymore until the semester is over, so if anyone can tell me how to do this before then, I will be very happy, and my soundfont will be that much better! Thank you everyone, and I'll try to check back regularly to see if anyone has any questions/comments. Peace!

This is really, really awesome dude, great idea :-D Just so I understand, this soundfont is only compatible with AMS and not MPC?
Anyway, regarding ideas for possible future edits, I agree that the Wind Waker and Wolf Link howl sounds would be cool :-D You also mentioned about possibly including the frog sounds, and I think that would be a great idea too :-)
I was listening to the harp and wondered if you got it from Medli's harp, because it sounds very similar :-O And that made me think that having Makar's fiddle in the soundfont would be sweet too...
The only main criticisms I have at the moment are that the Ocarina of Time and flute sounds are almost identical. Maybe the flute slot can be filled with something else instead? Also, the soundfont doesn't have any sort of bass part, other than the male choir voices. I don't know where you could get one from, but I think having some sort of bass would really allow this soundfont to be more versatile :-D
Overall, this is pretty darn sweet. Great soundfont :-D

I agree with what PopTart said fully. You have 3 different flute-like sounds so perhaps you could replace one if you find a bass. But I do like the flute samples, because none of the soundfonts already around have really good flute sounds. Amazing job

Great soundfont :-D First, I'm gonna let you know that it's not that it's made specifically for AMS and not MPC, it's that I don't use MPC at all these days, because the AMS is just so much better. Unless you need an arranger. Then you're screwed. Needless to say, I haven't tried it on MPC, but I'm sure it will work. Just make sure your low A rest note glitch works. It never does for me. Second, I am still looking for a Wolf Link-like howl and a Wind Waker-like chorus. If anyone finds it let me know. And as for the frog sounds, I took them out. I can't see how they could be useful except for a re-composition of Bubblegloop Swamp from Banjo-Kazooie. It's still in version 1.0, so if you want to use it in a soundfont with B-K instruments, use AMS Third, I did not use Medli's harp, but it sounded pretty close, and I DO have a fiddle that sounds like Makar's. Anyone up for a version 1.2? Maybe if I have the time. Last, I agree with you. Yoshi and either Car or GameBoy need to be replaced. I'll use the extra space to put in a bass and a fiddle, possibly an acoustic guitar as well to replace the near-silent Zora Guitar. I'll also try to see what I can do about the Deku Pipes and, if possible, the Goron Drums, too. Glad you like my soundfont. I'll try to fix the problems for the next release.

Ok, I'll try it in MPC sometime :-) I do understand how the frogs probably wouldn't be too useful :-P I was just throwing around the idea lol (and I hadn't listened to what it sounds like in version 1.0, so I was just curious what you thought about the sound). I agree that it probably isn't a necessity lol. I like the Deku Pipes and Goron Drums; I don't know if you were meaning you were going to replace them or just make them louder lol. You could probably also just add extra layers of the Zora Guitar on top of itself in Viena to make it louder without having to bother replacing it, but that's just me :-P Anyway, I can't wait for version 1.2 in the future :-D

You just solved the problem I've been having with those three sounds! I'll try this when I got the time. For now, I'm working diligently on my homework. College life is such a pain! No time for doin' what you love. But don't worry. This project will be finished before the year is out. It's a while to wait, so in the meantime, enjoy my soundfont. Oh, and let me know if it works on MPC. That's kinda important. Also, if anyone knows how I can lower the volume of the strings, the soundfont will be even better. I tried to use another set of strings, but they were too low, so I tried raising them up one octave, and it was like half the strings were playing the note correctly. This is probably because of the multiple stereo splits, and I will attempt to fix the problem because they are very good strings. If anyone can tell me how to change the splits that don't show in the splits editor, it would be a great help. Well, I'm gonna wrap this up. Long story short: Raise volume by stacking splits, find out if OoP works with MPC (that's your job), lower volume of old strings or raise octave of new strings, and put in bass and fiddle. Catch ya later. (I love these new smileys)

DUUUDE!!! You just solved the problem I've been having with those three sounds! Oh sweet! Yeah, stacking usually helps Good news, the soundfont works in MPC! (I figured it would lol.) I noticed, though, that the loops in the dogs and swans aren't very smooth. I don't blame you though, I don't know how to fix that myself X-D If I recall correctly though, I think delaythepickup may have described how to tackle this issue in his Viena tuitorial on YouTube. Also, the cats only make sound in my left ear...maybe you accidentally deleted the sound for the right ear? Anyway, school is certainly more important than this, so worry about this when you have the time

Anyway, school is certainly more important than this, so worry about this when you have the time Well I had some free time and tried to solve the loop problems, and I have a general idea of how to effectively make it loop smoother, but every time I mess with it and play the sound on the keyboard, it doesn't loop the sound and occasionally freezes on me. So fixing loops is out of the question. You'll have to edit this on your own when the final release is out. I think I've found a way to put the left speaker sounds with the right ones. I'll try making two separate instruments, then copy and paste one set into the other. We'll see how this plays out. I'll also try this with the strings that didn't make the cut because of the stereo problem. As much as I love using Viena, I gotta say I'm disappointed with how much it lacks in performance and reliability.
