Blender was the first one I have seen earlier this year. I was like "cool, he's able to compose stuff on Mario Paint, I couldn't do that with a shit." And then I saw Mario Paint Composer and many compositions done with the program (Axelrod, Lolo, HCBailly, etc.) and I saw something infintely better. Months later and EvilGrimace's Dickspeed vids assured me that there's something insanely awesome about this program that I can use to my own advantage if I use it often enough . As far as HCBailly goes, he probably only has enough time to work on his Let's Play series, while working on MPC compositions in between recordings. Using soundsets and advanced techniques is probably a lot more time consuming than it actually is, and thus he probably can't allocate time to make improved compositions, so using the original soundset doesn't take as much effort as Axelrod or myself or anyone who uses the original soundet. And I retract my first statement about being traditional, because I'm thinking of a few compositions that would require the use of a soundset, or something I can make through Viena (Thank you DelaythePickup for your tutorial, I finally got the hang of understanding how to use the program, lol), and work on them when I come around to it. The only true limitation is the note limitation. Because you can't use low A (except as the glitch), or a high D, then you have no choice but to work around the limitations to create something that sounds like the OST without butchering it too much. But if people are good at improvising and figuring their way out of that pesky limitation, then there really isn't much limiting them.

Let me respond to that simply. HE BUTCHERS IT TOO MUCH.

I think his Mega Man 2: Wily's Stage and Pokémon DPP: Route 209 are two of his best compositions.
But as far as tricks go, I actually have one "Mario Paint" thing that will probably break most of the rules as far as composing goes--even more than using SoundFonts. Several others know about it, but so far nobody has posted anything dedicated to it. I'll keep it a secret until...probably next weekend.

I really didn't like TBB's MM2 Wily Stage 1. It doesn't sound much like the original at all, because of the transpositions.
This new Mario Paint thing intrigues me. Has it been used in any Mario Paint video so far?

I DID use it in one of my own videos. It is NOT Mario Paint/MarioSequencer/Mario Paint Composer. It's actually still composition, but it REALLY breaks the rules.

Okay, don't just bring up some MYSTICAL secret then refuse to tell everyone.
And his MM2 Dr. Wily 1 is what got me angry in the first place. Compare it with AzureDreams's. HIS is awesome! So I guess it can be done on Mario Paint. Maybe TomBobBlender is just... *gasp* Bad?

The rhetorical rules of the Mario Paint world. For example, using Mario Paint software.

Maybe TomBobBlender is just... *gasp* Bad? That made me LOL so hard... I mean, it's almost as if you've been building up this thread slowly to break out that one-liner. ;D Which I can understand. And about this... thing... Hmmmm... *quickly searches through all of cat333pokemon's vids*

I mean the fact that my composition is NOT Mario Paint/Sequencer/Composer/something that looks like Mario Paint in any way.

So yes, it's no? I think I may know what you're on about now, if you've used it in one of your vids... ;D

it seems the blender likes using all the available sounds. I mean ALL of them. he keeps changing the instruments for [what seems like] no reason.
Oh, and for cat... you know what would really break the rules? Using the default soundset in FL studio, or other "real" composing software.

If Lolo ever saw this thread, I bet he would freak. Maybe Lolo, who's a perfectly good composer on the original SNES Mario Paint, and Azuredreams777, who kicks the shit out of Blender, shot themselves after seeing how terrible Blender's compositions are, yet he has more subscribers then them.

I think Satoshi mentioned doing something like that once...
IMO that's not Mario Paint, as you aren't actually using the program. Do whatever you possibly can with the program, and it's still Mario Paint in eyes. But that, no.
