Very nice, Prefect!
Wow, I can not wait at all. This should be epic.
Here's the all-important question, though: will notes be written if it's behind a window and you click on it (A la MPC right now.) Oh yeah, and are we going to get first dibs?

My Application will only react to events (mouse / keyboard) if the window is on the same workspace and in the foreground.
Erm, what are dibs?

I do believe that in the context in which angrytiger used it, he is asking whether or not we will be the first to be able to use it, possibly before you actually release it to the public should you choose to do so.

I will probably release a beta version so that everyone who wants to can test my application and report bugs. I will post a link to the beta version download exclusively in this forum, but of course everyone who comes across the link will be able to download it, so it will be a release to the public anyway.
As for the final version, I see no point in posting a link in this forum earlier than I release it officially.

I resized the Window so that it fits in YouTubes new dimensions. (Text is not part of my application )

Aw man, I thought the lolcat was a part of the application. Other than that it seems pretty amazing, though.

I have high hopes that it will, 'cuz if it doesn't there are gonna be a few dozen pissed of MPCers. Aw man, I thought the lolcat was a part of the application. LolCats not included.

Yeah, note the window that Prefect's working in -- it's a Mac OS window.

Yeah, note the window that Prefect's working in -- it's a Mac OS window. Probably because he's programing this on a Mac? *shrugs* *cough* Is it possible to mute individual notes, or is that impossible? What I mean is that it's a way instead of the Low A glich to have two notes, but mute the second note to create the same effect as a low A glitch. If it can't be done, then no worries. I would though like to see something similar to Notessimo where you can scroll up and down to add notes anywhere, so you can basically cover a huge range without distorting the piece so much (Prelude from Final Fantasy 4-7 is a good example of this).

After seeing the video, I REALLY can't wait! It looks awesome, especially with the classic jumping Mario animation.

Most of this has already been discussed in this thread, but I'll give you a short overview about what's to come:
- The application will run on MacOSX and Windows. As for Linux, I'm not sure yet, but it will probably run there too. It will look basically the same on windows, but windows will have the menu bar inside the window (yes, there will be a menu bar; for saving, loading and adding SoundFonts). The Window is designed to fit perfectly in YouTube without menu and control bar (as the control bar can has different heights because you can use different window styles (Mac Aqua, Vista Aero, XP Luna, Windows classic, and so on). - There will definitely be a possibility to mute single notes. I have already a plan about how to do this. - The range of the notes will not be further extended. As you might have noticed, the SoundFont system works with playing the included wavesounds faster or slower to give them different pitches. So the high notes are are played much shorter than the low notes, and this effect would be worse if the range was greater. And besides that, what would the Mario Sequencer be without some limitations? - I'm thinking hard about a way to make volume editing easier. But this has low priority at the moment and probably won't be part of the first release.

A suggestion to Ford Prefect: Post the beta link in a password-protected area (like the text files page) if you don't want random people downloading it.

Here's another ingame video: www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=b46c52f041c1b1f7d2db6fb9a8902bdaAs you can see, I have implemented muting single notes, and tempo changing, along with other stuff. I'm not very happy with the animation at faster tempi... there are simply too few frames per jump, so you don't see mario really jumping anymore. Perhaps I'll abandon jumping animation at tempi above 200 or 300...
