I know this isn't really the best place to post this, but if anyone remembers the Mario Kart 8 promotion, then I have a code I want to sell. It is for a digital copy of New Super Mario Bros U, Wii Party U, Pikmin 3 or The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD and since I already have physical copies of each of these games I really have no use for it. I'm personally not interested, but I must ask: can you really do this? From a legal standpoint, I have my doubts. From a practical standpoint, it looks feasible, but from what I've read, only if you got a physical copy of Mario Kart 8. This way, the registration code can be transferred to the eBay buyer. Otherwise, with a digital copy of the game, the registration process is linked to your console. I don't own nor have any experience with a Wii U, so there may be information that I'm not aware of or misunderstood.
Also, what irks me a little is that you could sell the download code after using it yourself or sending it to someone else (a friend for example). That way, the buyer gets the item "as described in the listing", but he/she can't download the game.
Those are my thoughts. Also, you should confirm in the item's description that the registration process must be completed by July 31st and that the code must be used before August 31st. It never hurts to display correct and precise information when trying to sell items on eBay.

I hadn't thought about that the code could be linked to my console through Club Nintendo...
I've given it some thought and I'll just redeem the code for New Super Mario Bros U. These legal issues (if there are any) frighten me and really don't want a lawsuit on my hands. I'm gonna remove the listing. If a mod is reading this, please lock the thread.
