Hello. Long time, no see.
I've been in the mood for probably a couple of months to start up/finish some compositions that I've had in mind/abandoned. But, it seems like the MPC community is almost completely dead. There's not much motivation to create a new composition if there's only going to be 5-10 people who watch your creations.
So my question is: How many of you guys are still actively Mario Painting? Are you generally still into it, rather than forcing yourself to make a new song for the sake of keeping MPC alive?
I kind of wish I was into it more back when it was a big thing back in '08-'11. It was pretty fun composing songs and listening to the creations that you guys came up with (if anyone even reads this).
And if this is dead, ah well, it was fun while it lasted.

I'm still fairly into MPC, even though I have generally always been fairly slow to put them out there. I'll let others say what they think.

It's not that dead.... I mean, yea it's kinda been slow here lately, but it's actually been picking up recently! I feel that this summer there will be like a MPC Renaissance. We'll see new composers and old, and awesome new songs. I'm still actively makin stuff, and actually currently in a project with another MPCer.
Glad to have you back JBF, can't wait to see what new things you gots! also, you should talk with us on skype if you still have it.

JBF! Yeah I am still certainly into MPC, even if I don't pump them out like I used to due to my busy schedule. I've had more time recently though and have been working on stuff. And I don't think MPC is dead either, things are just slower than they used to be because though some people have sort of faded away, others are just simply more busy nowadays too. I'd love to see you make some more stuff man, I've always loved it!

I still watch them and am involved in the community, if that makes you feel better :B

I feel for you OP; I also wish to have started MPC (or at least, started progressively well) in the early stages, but it looked like I was born the wrong year for that.
People do say it's dead, and there's no denying it now, but the amount of viewers towards decent (broadly speaking) MPCs has hardly changed since probably six months ago; people above and others still find the pleasure of watching arrangements and compositions in this ever small program. I'd really advice that if you do make an arrangement, make it for pure fun sake instead of for the community. There's not much benefit in reviving the community and making it for the future (unless you're going towards a music career and just started), but nothing beats making it through entertainment and the satisfaction in completing MPCs.

The last MPC thing I did was my part of the Community Composition a couple of months ago, which I enjoyed and I look forward to seeing the finished piece, but before then I hadn't done anything on MPC for some while. I've got an unfinished work that I may some day complete though.
I think there's been more activity on here in the last few months than the few before then, and while I don't expect some sudden big revival, I don't think the world of Mario Paint composing is dead. New innovations are trickling in too, and I suspect Rehd's Super Mario Paint will bring a bit of movement for those like me who have neglected MPCing for a while but still have an interest in the area.

Well, I've finally started up on a project. Hopefully it'll be enough to kick me back into full swing lol

Nice to meet you Jeff. I've been doing Mario Paint stuff for the past 2 years, and no signs of quitting. So I am still pretty active

I still love being in the MPC community, I enjoy watching and seeing other's compositions, even if I don't make songs as much as others, or with the skill some other's have. I wouldn't say it's dead, just dormant.

Still doing my random dips into it and making random things that take me literally forever to do, but there's still things I work on (very very very slowly working on a thing right now). I also pop into Skype every now and then (very rare, still though), and don't log in more often or stay long since I don't know where the hell everyone went to.

It's been two and a half years since I've been around. In that time, I've done the occasional MPC, but nothing ever gets finished. Granted, most of the time has ended up being taken by another forum, the TVTropes forum.
But I'd very much like to bring this old passion back to life. It was a fun hobby, and a fun community as well.
