It looks like there's been some activity around here lately, but no one seems to have been able to admin/back up the revival. I can do it, if anyone wants. The rules are as such:
1. Nominate people for rounds
Max 5 total nomination points, distribute them - for example

but NOT
or
or
Aka. positive, integer values that add up to 5!
2. The two Composers with the maximum number of noms get to face off with some MP-based composition. They must choose which composition they will be using against the other.
3. Other users vote on which composition they like more, and the winner is decided as the one with the most votes.
4. Also nominate people for the next round during the voting stage.
For reference, we will be starting at 0 nominations per person again, but the previous noms were like such:

How it works:
Like Rate the Composer, Battle of the Composers uses a point system, where people have 5 nomination points counted towards active members of the MPH forums. The top two nominated will battle it out with either their best composition or a 1-2 minute composition of their own if they so choose. Battles will take place beginning Monday, and will end Sunday night, where a poll will determine who was the better composer of the two for that week.

Edit: Alright, since I don't want any bad vibes going around since coincidentally rcplanes59 came up with a simliar contest idea a few days ago, he gets credit for the original idea, and I do encourage his participation too

Seeing as how this's been dead since January 25th, 2010, and how people revived the RtC thing, I thought I should give this a go. If the Mods/Admins wanna delete this and think I shouldn't have doen this, or if WB2K doesn't want this, I'm ok with that. I also thought that seeing how the old format was kind of difficult to manage and from what I see the old format was getting more attention, I figured that if I'm going to do this, I might as well go towards the more popular one.
I chose the top 2 people with nominations for this round, but aside from that, all the nominations will now start on a clean slate. As usual, you get 5 nomination points, and seeing how GeoffNet doesn't even go here, you guys can suggest songs for him, and if AZ isn't active, you can suggest songs for him too. This might be kinda sudden, but I personally really liked this and don't want it to die off. Each new round will be on a Wednesday, seeing how today is Wednesday
