I've just downloaded this, but I can't work out the difference between the two mute notes (labelled 'NOTE' and 'INST'). One makes the note grey, the other makes it black, but they both seems to behave the same. Both seem to mute all notes played by one instrument. I assume that 'NOTE' is supposed to mute a single note, while 'INST' is supposed to mute an entire instrument. Is this a bug?

'mute' stops single notes ONLY if an instrument is selected to sustain (shift-click on instrument, will appear green). 'inst' mutes ALL notes no matter when or not you are using sustain.

Hi Rehd, I´ve been using 1.03 and haven´t found any of the issues I had with previous versions (specially the infamous software crashing, only able to close it via ctrl/alt/del). The only minor annoyance I find is that whenever I set the focus on the textfield to input the name of my file and then continue working on my song, the focus stays on the textfield, therefore I can´t use the arrows on my keyboard to move the GUI unless I click on the slider. (I know, such a noob, but I didn´t now this until 2 weeks ago, so I had to restart SMP every time I named a file). I have a question, is there a way to make the arranger automatically enable/disable the notes sustain (when you shift/click an instrument to avoid an instrument to cut itself) of specific files? I´m making a big medley (currently 60+ files) and every time I play the whole thing I have to enable and disable the sustains for certain files in real time. Thanks again for your hard work making this wonderful (and now, very stable) software.

yes yes yes yes YES. I completely agree about what adolfo mentioned about the sustaining and the arranger, but I as a mac user can't even use SMP, cause it constantly crashes whenever i scroll......

AdolfoBaezSounds good, I'll add the sustains and the scrollbar focusing to the features list. I thought I had made it do the sustains already, but maybe I'm just accidentally missing some lines of code to actually make it happen. @wikkidvommit I will see what is happening on Mac...

i can make simple songs on SMP but when trying to make complex songs (esp. without dickspeed) it will stop running and I have no choice but to exit SMP without saving

AdolfoBaezI've implemented the note extensions in my most recent code commit; I will make a program release soon. I've also fixed another 101+ measure problem, whereby the song would get left-shifted a measure whenever a song with more than 101 lines is loaded.

did you manage to fix that bug where mario paint crashes when you use the arrow keys to move the score when there are lots of notes on the screen?

Nice, now I actually know what bug you're talking about so I can go fix it. Do you have an example file?

well, just attempt to compose something with no dickspeed and with a lot of notes, but scroll using the arrow keys

I'm sorry if I'm being an absolute dolt right now, but it seems I'm not smart enough to install SMP. I've downloaded the v1.0.4 .zip from Github, but I have no idea what to do with the files I downloaded. None of them seem to be interactable in any way, and the readme file has no guide in it. I just don't know where else to turn...

Not that I can see, that would be .bat and .jar, right...? What is the name of the file, and what program do I run it in?
I feel so technically impaired that it's embarrassing. <.>

I'd like to apologise for my incompetence, I was downloading the wrong .zip file from the wrong location on Github. I've now managed to download it and it works as advertised. The only function I'm missing is the ability to switch between 3/4 and 4/4 on the sheet, but maybe that'll come in a future patch.
