Hey guys, I recently submitted 3 of my videos to monetize them on youtube (I´m having some small financial issues, no big deal), Evolution of Video Games, Zelda Super Epic Medley and Bits of Awesome, as I expected they sent me an email requesting documentation showing that I can use the Audio and Video for commercial purposes. I can understand that for the 2 MPC videos, but Bits of awesome is an OC, I haven´t registered it because that theme was just for fun. Anyway my point is, has anyone been able to monetize with MPC videos? if so, how were you able to do it? is there a work-around for this? stating that is a remix or new arrangement isn´t enough for youtube. Thanks, any advice is welcome

I kinda wanted to try it when I first saw the offer, but I stopped myself when I read a very specific bit about how cover songs of any kind are not permitted for monetization, and considering it's like real money, I think I might end up real trouble if I were to try and make money off of the stuff I've uploaded
I think there was even some beef about using certain samples or bits of other people's stuff counted against being able to monetize, so I dunno if having the Mario Paint sounds alone makes a video ineligible

That´s too bad, and kinda confusing also, there are tons of videos making a cover song being monetized

i just tried to follow along with what i read from youtube and ended up avoiding monetization
those cover songs that are being monetized; i don't know if it's just a matter of them not being caught or if there's actually nothing binding them from their earnings and everything's perfectly alright
to be honest, i'm scared to try it myself
