Hello everyone, I'm new around here, blah blah..
I was working on a good composition when I decided to copy all of my old files (prefs -> old stuff -> old files) to my normal prefs directory. Realizing in the middle of the process that I'd be replacing all my updated pieces with the older ones, I tried to go back. I couldn't. When I go back to open MPC, NONE of my songs are in the "load song" box. I flip to the arrangements box: nothing. I desperately tried to copy all the files and see if that would work: nothing again.
I don't care about the files that were made old as most of them were pretty bad. But this song has to survive my stupidity. Someone please help me!

All my files are now in my prefs folder. I can only open the first part of my song, which I also named "MySong" -______-. Why can't I open anything else?

Go look in your MarioPaintSongList.txt file and edit that manually such that it contains your song files.

I knew it! The program independently refreshes the songs only when you save the song >in< the program.
oh BTW rehdblob, your Mario overworld theme is very good.

Welcome rck (or rock?)!
to go off of what Rehd said, yea, you should go into your Prefs folder (or maybe even your recycle bin), and just look for a file called "MarioPaintSongList" and a file called "MarioPaintArrList". if these files were saved over, or somehow wiped, with just blankness, you might be out of luck in terms of song list.... but don't worry, your work isn't gone, it's just not showing up on MPC.
btw, do you have a skype?
