Maybe you should try compiling the fluidsynth. Do you have ~1GB of free disk space?

The experimental version is in .7z format. What the hell do I open that with?

Hey FordPrefect, I had an idea that might be useful. Would it be possible to 'hotkey' the Mario Paint instruments on AMS? For instance, pressing 'a' would bring up the Mario Head note, pressing 's' would bring up the Mushroom, pressing 'd' would bring up the Yoshi, and so on. That would be helpful in many instances, especially when laying down percussion notes and swapping between boats and mushrooms.

Agreed, and anyways, I can't seem to go to the 7-zip website. Why can't anybody use the classic .zip files? (BTW, how do you compress files?)

You need an unpacker for compressed files anyway (don't tell me you use the Windows zip-feature, that's gay), and 7zip is certainly the best one (best compression ratio - even for zip files - and fastest unpacking), so I assume that everyone should have it installed. And as the 7z format has a better compression ratio than zip, I don't see a reason for using zip. I can't imagine why you can't access the website, but there are a lot of mirrors for 7zip all over the internets.

Just give it some kind of low A glitch or in other words, a way to cut the length of notes without lowering the volume bar, I think most composers agree that it´s one of the most useful (accidental) features, as for the notes per chord, I think 5 is fine, that´s why dickspeed exist. that also is used for songs that have really short notes

SOME PROBLEMS I HAD: No arranger feature High tempos make the screen REALLY fast. like OMG SEIZURE fast. If you made the Mario hop, it would probably make it even worse. You have to save/load from the prefs folder. I personally liked the song list better. I could probably get used to this, though. Plus I really like the custom soundfont maker. Very easy to use. ^^

SOME PROBLEMS I HAD: 1.) No arranger feature 2.) High tempos make the screen REALLY fast. like OMG SEIZURE fast. If you made the Mario hop, it would probably make it even worse. 3.) You have to save/load from the prefs folder. I personally liked the song list better. 1.) One of the limiting factors of MPC (small text files, especially bad for dickspeed), gone. You can learn to modify the MSS files manually, a much easier task than doing so with text files, and thus repeat a pattern. 2.) No more than the flashing screens of MPC, imo. 3.) That's a personal preference, of course. As for me, I have a new folder in my MPC folder, with subfolders based on song origins -- VG songs there, real songs here, OCs there, etc. Also, you're not limited to 100 files before the program crashes. To each his her own.

I reckon it needs a copy n paste feature. 'cause otherwise you'd hav 2 write out some stuff 2 or more times
E.g. with my sonic green hill zone, 1 parts is used 4 times.
With mpc, i could just have tht part in 1 scroll, and put it in the arranger when its needed. with ams, i'd have 2 re-write it out 3 times....
OR put each section of the song on a different scroll, film 'em all and put 'em all in 1 vid using movie maker... but thats just as good as using MPC 1.0.
Do you see wot i meen? :S

Hmm... I don't know if this has been reported or not, but my AMS will display multiple of the same note when a song is playing. The "extra" notes don't play, but it kinda bothers my work. Otherwise, beautiful project!
I'd like to ask that you put in more note bars, mostly down, and you can maximize the screen so it's fullscreen. But, please, take your time, there's no need to rush this sort of perfection.

PLEASE DON'T USE THIS THREAD ANYMORE, IT'S REALLY OLD AND WE HAVE A NEWER ACTIVE THREAD TO DISCUSS ABOUT THE AMS.
