Hey y'all. After finishing Ocarina of Paint, and getting nothing but positive feedback, I feel like making another. You may have seen the hidden message in the first post of the "Ocarina of Paint" board. It went like this:
Coming Soon New Super Mario Paint
This was the original concept for the Soundfont, that it would only use New Super Mario Bros. (DS) instruments, but I thought, "Nah. Super Mario 64 has been out longer, yet it doesn't have a soundfont, so I'm going to make one." Read below as I update the details.

Well, this might take longer than i expected. i got so much going on in my life: i got two new games, one of which is pokemon black (my friend got white and i gotta make sure he doesnt get too far ahead) my brothers are getting on my case, forcing me to download another crappy mmorpg (i hate those type of games!), i got work, i still have to learn to drive, and i have another project going on, the mario paint cursor thing. i'll chip away at this as much as i can, and i got 1 part of it done already ( the "doot doo"noises from smss) so i'd expect this to be done sometime by the end of spring/summer. i noticed this topic isn't getting any responses, as opposed to my Ocarina of Paint soundfont, and i'm okay with that. OoP was based on Zelda, which is probably more popular than Mario. still... i'm lonely on this thread, so somebody share your thoughts. i'm putting a poll up asking if anyone wants me to complete this. if you guys say no, i'll cancel the project and continue with my cursors

Well I came up with a title, and changed my mind about making it a "3-in-1" soundfont. this won't have the SMSS/NSMB sounds in them; instead, it will be strictly SM64, so the title is Super Mario Paint 64. I have 2 options: 1. I could release more than one version of this soundfont, each with it's own soundset. This could take forever, and will take more than 5 Mario Paint Soundfonts, though so I'm probably going to go with option 2. 2. Put all instruments in a massive soundfont, and let users create a Mario Paint Soundfont using the "Copy/Paste Presets" feature in Viena. This will be easier, since some music files share the same instruments. If it will make things easier, I can include a Read Me that tells which Presets are used in each song, though it will be a difficult task.
EDIT: This is going to be a huge problem. I can't loop samples. I got lucky in my OoP sf, but now I cannot figure out how to get it to sound right. Any help will be appreciated. I can't continue until I find out how to do this.

I hit a major bump in the road. As some of you may have read in my Mario Paint Cursors thread, my computer kicked the bucket, and I had to do a system reset (even Resetti is laughing at this ) so I could only keep a minimum amount of files, not including any of the programs needed to complete this soundfont, or the soundfont itself, for that matter. So while it kills me inside to say this, I don't have the patience to redownload VGM Trans, Viena, Zero-X (for looping soundfonts, btw, and costs $50, which as of now I can't afford), or that program needed to convert DLS to SF2 (can't remember it's name), and this soundfont will not be completed. I'm sorry.

That's too bad, I was looking forward to it. It's all right though, I mean it's pretty unexpected. There's no accounting for random failures.
