I just started using AMS, hearing that is was better than the classic MPC. So far, it has very nice features, and I like it. I'm just wondering, would I be considered "fake" if I started doing my compositions in AMS?

Not at all. By that logic, everyone that used MPC instead of the SNES version is fake. I'd say you're fine.

It's all about preference; some people like to use MPC, some AMS. Doesn't really matter as long as you're happy with it

I made the switch, and I love it. I haven't seen any negative remarks, but be prepared to be asked what the hell version of MPC you're using.
What irks me is when people say that it's MPC in the title. Tags I don't mind, but in the title it seems like deliberately lying about the content. Just my 2 cents.

Not at all. People usually don't mind, and if they do, they probably would have complained anyway if you were using MPC because the ones that may complain are SNESMP purists.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think I'll just stick with AMS from now on. Less bugs, more features, easier to work with, and thank god, when you minimize it and click on the screen, it doesn't add notes and annoy you with the sound.
