Hello people (: I'm extremely new to Mario Paint (well, at least on a complicated level), and though I'm very sorry for having to ask this, I do have a question:
I'd like to make one of my favorite old school songs sound as close as I can, and yes, I do intend on making the soundfont thingy by myself - assuming I can ever learn how to do it. I'm actually recreating Michiko Naruke's "Funeral Procession" for the game Wild Arms, and I'm obligated to serve both her and the RPG justice.
My question is this; does anyone have any good ideas for audio samples I should use, or were I should get them from? I'm really sorry again, but I just want this to be as perfect as I can get it. Thank you in advance for your time =]

Hopefully you got my reply on youtube. Sorry I couldn't have been of more help. D: It's been over a year since I've used a soundfont, so everything is kinda fuzzy.
I do know that you could download a bunch of soundfonts that others have made, and mix and match them together in a program called Viena. I know Balloon and Colin have tutorials up on youtube on how to use it. Lob, Friedfischer, and Esojestmort also have very extensive knowledge about soundfonts.
I wish you the best of luck. I can't wait to see the result. Funeral Procession is one of my favorites from the game.

No, you did help! I just made this post before I got your reply xD and thank you very much for the response.
Trust me, it'll take me a long time to make this song o.0 I've still gotta learn how to make good soundfonts, and I gotta figure out what this "MIDI" thing is and how it's supposed to help. But I will certainly try my best to make this song sound as beautiful as the real one does.

With MIDI, you can use something like Noteworthy composer or Cakewalk to open the .mid file of the music and see the sheet music, along with the different instruments. A lot of us here use our ears to listen to each note to place them on the MPC staff. (this is because many times, the MIDI files are inaccurate) But there are a handful of MIDI MPCers out there, too.
