I haven't done this in a while, but if I remember correctly, you need to (preferably) copy a shortcut to CMD into whatever folder zsnes is in, open it, type in zsnesw -d which opens the debugger, press f1 (whenever you're ready to change the tempo) to setup the debugger, press M to modify the ram and then type in '7E0C2Dxx', with the xx being the tempo, and then press f1 again. Original is supposedly around 20 ( For reference, got it off www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSY3zZhSnUU ).
