www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZ20N6syuwc&feature=relatedPersonally, I think that the people who hear the OBVIOUS similarities are simply making themselves hear it. Of course they seem to match - their tempoes are identical, or near enough that they blend. Add that to Robo's Theme's 80s pop-like ambience and it does sound alike. Still... fail, in my book.

I actually didn't notice they sound a bit alike until someone pointed it out. They have the same chord progression. Big whoop.
How many time have people used Canon in D's Chord Progression?

They actually fit well together, although saying they're similar is a bit of a stretch.
But seriously, people like this need a life.

I never saw what was so funny about Rick Astley's song to begin with. It's not that bad that it deserves to get billions of views as the disappointing result of a fake link.
I mean, why Rick Astley? Why not a song that's actually very bad, like "Achy Breaky Heart" by Billy Ray Cyrus, "ABC" by Michael Jackson, or anything by Britney Spears. Sorry if I offended anyone who happens to like any of those songs -- okay, ABC isn't actually that bad either, but I can see how it would get very annoying. But "Achy Breaky Heart" has long been my definition of a bad song.
