So I'm planning to make a soundfont. I have seen the tutorial on youtube and I'm prepared. i have nothing to show ATM because i wanted to know how to i do my own samples from another audio file? I want to do a "Super Mario World Soundfont". I have an audio clip that has all of the instruments of the game besides 2 (i don't know where to get them either). Any help?

well if all the sounds are seperate, you can just use an audio editor to split the sounds into multiple samples. or are you looking for the SMW 2 soundtrack or something?

I have an audio file that has all the instruments i need. i converted a snes audio file to wav or wmv (cant recall that) with winamp. i can split the file into pieces but how do i make it a sample? Does it have somekind of separate filetype or is it just any other audio clip? Edit: smw1 only but thats not a bad idea too.

open viena, and click new sample (New smpl) up at the top when you have started making a soundofnt.

If you want to edit some sounds/musicfiles, download the Programm "Audacity" (Just google it, you'll find it at one go). It's simple to use and very effective.
