So, I have a few VSTi's and while I know how to play them, what I want to know is if there's any easy way to record a sample from them. I could record them myself, but it might not turn out as good as i want.
P.S. I'm thinking of building a (free) library of "quality" sounds samples. How does this sound?

Can't you just use a host to record the notes to a wave file?
VST instruments don't necessarily use samples themselves (some of them simulate instruments), so all you can record is their output.

Only one thing about your free library I have to mention: If you release it under a GNU license, you CANNOT derive samples from anywhere else unless it is also GNU and grants permission to use.
If you're just going to release it with a regular license (like all the other SoundFonts here), just don't use samples from any paid products unless they explicitly allow redistribution.

what's a GNU licence?
And no paid products? but it's just a few pitches... and I'm not doing it for profit...
Besides, how can it hurt them? it'll just be here, and since it's only octaves of C, it's not going to be the same quality, and also you have to conform with my versions, so it's more worthwhile for VSTi's to get the versitality and customizability...
Bleh. I hate legal stuff.
