The Wii has been my personal favorite so far from my experience. Super Mario Galaxy, Okami, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Animal Crossing: City Folk... I've played so many fun games on the Wii. I'm ashamed to say that I haven't spent nearly enough time on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 to have a serious opinion about them. All I can say is Resident Evil 5 and Bioshock make me wanna buy an Xbox 360 and LittleBigPlanet makes me wanna buy a PlayStation 3. *wants...more money*

This
for This
I dunno, it's just me, but the XBOX360 doesn't have a really good collection of games. I guess I'm not the shooter kinda guy. That makes the 360 completely useless for me. I have one, but I just use it for Rock Band. The Wii has had is up and down times, but the downs have come from the Wii (action) series. Everything else is really good: Galaxy, SSBB, Mario Kart Wii, OKAMIIIIIIIIIIII (i've heard, never played) also *harp sound*. The MotionPlus thing looks really cool, I might have to get it for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10. PS3 sucks IMO 'cuz it has no KH games. K? DSi is amazing. Like AMAZING. But...no GBA Slot? Now it doesn't seem so attractive. It may be okay for those 5 year-olds who get stuck on Torn World in Platinum (see: Friend's Brother's Friend), or buy all the spin-offs and don't give a crap for any of the REAL RPGs just because the spin-offs mostly require no RPG tactics (see: my neighbor), or for kids who DON'T know anything about the old games and are like 'OMG WHO DIS ONIX AND WAI HE IN DIS GAEM' (see: my other neighbor).

Neither does Wii, so you should hate that as well. DSi is amazing. Like AMAZING. But...no GBA Slot? Now it doesn't seem so attractive. For young adults and adults, the 360 remains the top console because it has more games, not "let's see how much we can use motion sensing!" gimmicks. Shooter? If you remain convinced that the only fantastic games that exist on 360 involve shooting, then you are sorely mistaken. Even PS3 is better than Wii, again, because of the presence of GAMES. I'm not knocking the motion sensing, but I am saying that Nintendo made a stupid decision in releasing a half-done gimmick (why else do you think Motion+ is coming out?) in order to grab as many kids and 'casual' players as it could, which it DID, I'll grant you. But in doing so, and continuing to provide only a heavy concentration of games for the casual (read: gullible) masses and only spending time on a few first-party titles (Metroid, Zelda, Mario) that appeal to GAME PLAYERS only because of their franchise's history, Nintendo is quickly losing touch with what put it into the business in the first place -- appealing to gamers who play games, instead of purposely targeting people who you know are unlikely to ever play games more intense than Wii Sports, but pretending that 'oh, yeah, Wii's the gateway console to more serious gaming!' Please. I'd like to see them show me a bunch of middle-aged parents who want to play a serious game instead of sitting down with their kids to play a game of Wii Bowling or using that GREATEST of GAMING ( ) accessories, the WII FIT! At least you were somewhat sensible in admitting that the DS is trash for GAMING but for a few exceptions. Also, your statement that PS3 sucks because it doesn't host Kingdom Hearts must make it so that either A.) You also think Wii sucks because it doesn't host Kingdom Hearts (there are no excusing factors, you set that aside as the ONE REASON that you would think a console sucks, so unless you researched the rest of PS3's library and decided it all sucked, you can't make such a statement), or B.) You didn't really mean that statement now that you see the flaw in your consideration, thus making you like the PS3. Your statement regarding Okami is also moot, as that was a Playstation 2 title. I guess it boils down to: what do you want? A GAMING console? Or an ENTERTAINMENT CENTER? Because while the latter can do many thing decently (see DS and Wii), the former does gaming, and gaming alone, excellently.

I pretty much agree with all TIger has said.
Though the Wii is still my favorite console, yet I am truly disappointed in the lack of RPG titles for the Wii. Despite my love of Mario, I don't really see the hype in the New Super Mario Bros. Wii title.
As for the other consoles I don't mind the 360, and I'll occasionally play a FPS when I'm at a friend's house, yet it has never appealed to me, I don't know why... The PS3, well since having owned a PS2, I still share some of my greatest experiences with Sony, so there's some sort of sentimental connection there, but having the lack of money as so many others, it is a turn off that the PS3 is still highly priced (it could go down by $50 and be fine, but $100 would be better). Though I see that is where my genre of gaming lies, for I am the RPG fan person with the occasional 2.5&3D fighters such as Brawl, Dynasty Warriors, etc.
It all comes down to personal preference though, because once someone starts arguing that one is better than the other, flame wars start. In short, best state one's opinions and nothing more. Read them, take them into consideration, and then contribute to the discussion.

I don't hate the PS3, nor will I criticize, but it's just that the PS3 doesn't have many games that I personally like. However, like I said, I will not criticize the PS3 nor the XBOX360, because there are, in fact, games that I enjoy playing on it. But, I think Nintendo made the right choice, because in the end, it's all about how much money they make. And obviously, with this new direction they're going, it's working, as their sales far outnumber those of the Xbox360 and the PS3. I personally don't like all these casual games, and wish they'd put out some more games, but money-wise, they're on the right track.

First-Party =/= automatic excellent game. Just means that it's more likely than shovelware. 360 and PS3 both still have a larger number of excellent games because everything's got a great chance to be good, not just first-party titles. B.) A crap-load? You have a list or source for that?

I think he is referring to the games announced at E3, but I may be mistaken.
You guys can debate about consoles and games or whatever else, but I do not want to see anything get out of hand.

I think he is referring to the games announced at E3, but I may be mistaken. You guys can debate about consoles and games or whatever else, but I do not want to see anything get out of hand. Hardly. I am merely not knocking any console offhand because I don't have it -- on the contrary. I had a 360 once, never had a PS3, currently have a Wii, yet it is the lattermost that I critique. Why? Because: - The 360 alone surpassed it in the excellent online services (both gaming and DLC, as well as community/social) - The sheer variety of good game genres (instead of third-person platforming/action-adventure or pseudo FPS starring a mascot being the only good games besides a few exceptions) - One of the most comfortable and usable controller designs to date (which comes with RESPONSIVENESS, instead of hoping to God that your tilt of the Wiimote wasn't enough to knock your aim way off-center) - Bigger and better games (graphically and length of gameplay) - Much more representation at stores (consider the Wii section of a store, whether gaming, electronic, or department, and it will never be as big as the 360 section) - The ability to play DVDs or function as a music player (giving it those entertainment center functions I mentioned, but remaining a powerful gaming machine) - Graphical and Processing superiority There are but two things that the Wii does that can be compared: cheaper, and the Wiimote is a novel idea that can work well for 10% of produced games. Short of that, it's really nothing special at all.

Short of that, it's really nothing special at all. Well, like I said, I DO agree with you. Except for the store part, because the EBGames next to me has all these Wii games posters and stuff(Ugh, they STILL have the SMG one, lol.) and not that many Xbox 360 or PS3 posters, and the Wii section is bigger there. I guess it depends where you live. But otherwise, I agree. But MY personal preference is the Wii, because the games on it,(not the casual ones) are just the ones I find more fun to play. My older brothers have an Xbox360 and a PS3, and I play the PS3 a LOT, but those few games on the Wii that stand out are the ones that keep me coming back. Plus, I have a bunch of VC games and Gamecube games that I can't get enough of. You aren't wrong in any way, but though the Xbox360/PS3 is superior in almost every technical aspect, it all comes down to personal preference.

360 for me. i like shooters, but the games that i play (and enjoy) the most are 3rd person...non-shooters? Basically like Assassin's Creed, Prototype (inFamous on the PS3), Red Faction Guerilla (but that has some shooting elements). Mirror's Edge is fantastic. As is Portal. And Left 4 Dead. And Gears. and Bioshock. and Army of Two. and Condemned. ETC. I guess I like the variety, maybe? I can name only two wii games that kept me interested the entire game. SMG and Brawl (the latter is on a list of games i can't stand anymore). Plus i like having a DVD player and online play that i can actually enjoy. And the gamerscore gives me a little more initiative in trying to win. The Wii just seems to be a little white box sitting outside of my room now. But, as everyone has said, it's personal preference

I chose 360. I have never owned one but have played several games on the console thanks to my roommate at college, and I am astounded at the awesome variety of awesome games it has (in my opinion). I've always been a Nintendo guy and have only ever owned Nintendo consoles, and I love several games on the Wii, but I feel the Wii just doesn't beat out 360 in terms of variety, and the ability to make each starkly different game truly interesting. Yes the Wii games belonging to classic Nintendo franchises are awesome, and they are some of my favorite games and video game franchises, but I feel the Wii has left me a bit disappointed. There aren't too many awesome games unrelated to these franchises. I don't often actively look on the internet into what games get planned to come out in the future (I don't know why), so unless I stumble across something there I get my "new game news" by looking around in local stores. I always seem to find brand new 360 games every time I visit a place, and yet the majority of Wii games are often the same, with most also being franchise stuff Anyway, that's just my opinion

Lol, I pretty much disagree with everything Tiger has posted in this topic so far. I voted for the DS (no surprise there), but I'm not understanding this Wii hate. Your arguments consist of "The XBOX360 has mature games for adults and the Wii has casual games for soccer moms", when really, there's a wide variety of games for all ages on the Wii. There's plenty of "hardcore" games, too; I could list 30 awesome ones (from a wide variety of genres, not just shooters) right now. Many Wii games get overlooked simply because many 360 and PS3-owning "hardcore gamers" don't take the time to look into it. Your argument of the 360 having more GAMES is null, too, there's a lot more high-quality DS titles than the 360 and PS3 combined. Calling it "worthless as a GAMING system with a few exceptions" is a pretty arrogant statement. Game consoles are toys. Owning a 360 doesn't automatically make you more invested in the hobby than a Wii owner. The "360 is hardcore for MATURE gamers" argument is flimsy and actually pretty childish.

I put up a thread some time ago of promising Wii titles. (Non first party, just to show that there are quite a bit of other quality titles other than first party).
It probably will not be very successful, but I'll still update it just for those who are bored and feel like reading it.
