In a week, 16 competitors that have been voted by you, the people here in the community, will compete for...um..bragging rights I suppose?
How the competitors are measured will be based on their level of skill in the following categories: Original Soundfont, Dickspeed, Arranged/Custom Soundfonts, use of volume/glitch control, diversity of compositions.
Rated from 1 to 10, each category will determine an overall skillset of each competitor.
A - Original Soundfont:
1 = mess of instruments that sound godawful; 10 = Everything goes so well together, you wouldn't think it was the original soundset
B - Dickspeed:
1 = badly synched notes; 10 = what EvilGrimace usually can do (not that I'm being biased or anything )
C - Arranged/Custom soundfonts:
1 = Poor choice of instrument use, doesn't know a flute from a timpani; 10 = Instruments fit like a glove, a very nice smooth glove that can pimpslap the competition to oblivion
D - Volume/Glitch usage:
1 = notes aren't cut off, too many sounds jumbled together, unable to distinguish one from the other; 10 = Every instrument is positioned in a way to sheer excellence, foreground and background instruments are distinguished, low A glitch cuts off the right notes for best effects
E - Diversity of compositions:
1 = Wayyyyyy too many songs on the same genre (too much Final Fantasy, too much Pokemon, too much Megaman, etc.); 10 = There's nothing this guy/gal can't compose, they don't limit themselves to video games, they like rock/pop/techno/etc. compositions as well
I think you guys get the gist of this. Now I'll list the competitors below, and you will then rate them based on Category A through E, with a number from 1 to 10 based on what criteria you feel they fall under, and that will show their overall skill. Once that is done, they will be seeded accordingly based on their strengths/weaknesses, and you can then vote on which composer will move onto the semifinals of their bracket.
Competitors:
YeOldeBowser
PhantomTaco
Domino&Reglisse
JohnFreeman
Lihayhm
Kacelano
Adolfobaez
WaluiJ
Balloon
Espeon
Levus
SnowDog80
BrianLED
Guru
EvilGrimace
FriedFischer (gets a bye into the tourney, since Levus already has won round 2 and is up again in round 16)
here's an example of how you will determine their skillset:
Levus
A = 10; B = 10; C = 10; D = 10; E = 10
Just go through each name with a number from 1 to 10 beside each lettered category, and all numbers will be averaged out to determine their final rating. Determine their rating based on what they have composed, so you'll most likely have to look through their youtube channel to get a good idea of what level of skill they possess. I may extend this to give everyone as much time as they need, considering there are 16 competitors in total, but we'll see by Sunday how many people have voted.
