Hi fellow geeks !
My name's Caroline, I'm 32 years old and I'm Canadian. My mother tongue is French, so sometimes I may sound funny while writing in English.
Until last fall, I was working as a cook in a seniors' home and now I'm currently unemployed, and my low vision and the fact of living with phobias aren't making things easy for finding a new job.
Since I have a lot of free time, I'm getting myself busy with art, gaming and trying out recipes. I draw mostly fanart and I have a gallery on Deviantart.
Caution : High amount of yoshi, for I'm a big fan of the lil' dino from the Mario universe since my childhood.
Gaming :
My types of games are mostly RPGs (Final Fantasy, Pokemon, ...) and some puzzles. I'm not really good in platform games, which is quite ironic for a Yoshi fan like me.
I have a 3DS XL Yoshi Edition, and if can share my friend code if there are people interestedd (especially Pokemon players - I have Y and Omega Ruby)
PC :
Until last year, I had an 11 years old P4 that was running Linux for seven years, and I kept it until the power supply died last September, I now have a two-years-old Alienware laptop running W7 64 bits and I was really lucky to stumble upon it on FB, for I was talking about getting a laptop with largely enough power to run my drawing/image editing softwares (Gimp, Krita, Inkscape).
Why I came here :
I recently downloaded MPC and so I began playing with it. I made my own MP version of a FF6 song a while ago, and yesterday I made a MP of a melody that played within a dream I was having. Yes, I'm that kind of person who can barely compose anything while awake but getting creative while dreaming. And yesterday was the first time I actually took time to note it down right after waking up, before I forget it. I think I'm gonna call it a Dreamsong.
I would like to share on Youtube what I've done, but my trouble is about screencording it for two reasons : 1) VLC, even its latest version (2.2.2) taken from videolan.org (the true official site), crashes when I try to launch recording. 2) Most free/open source screencorders have either compatibility issue in some way (OBS says a DirectX component is missing) or their installers are hosted on Sourceforge (Camstudio relies on it) and I cannot trust anything downloaded from SF anymore (cuz of malwares - Gimp and Notepad++ moved away for this reason) while still many open source project still rely to it.
And this really sucks that I have to rely on someone to screencord my stuff... :/
See ya soon, yoshiiii !
