This idea just occured to me, now that I'm having to deal with it.
My next project is:
Doesn't seem too menacing, until you realize that the intro is a whole mess of odd metered bars:
1 bar of: 15/8 duple x..6 triple / triple feel 2 bars : 4/4 2 bars : 7/8 duple duple triple feel
And then it grooves along in 4/4 for a while.
Just seems interesting to me because I'm probably going to have to take a few different files for those first 5 bars, once I experiment with tempos.
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else has had to deal with something like this.

If I remember correctly, this song is infamous for its time signature changes. It isn't fun to work on, I'll tell you that. I'm almost tempted to get a MIDI for it... that shows you how much trouble I'm having.

Several parts of the Crown Dungeon (Game Boy: Zelda - Oracle of Seasons) were in a bizarre meter; I forget exactly what it is, and I don't feel like digging out my video to look it up. Also, there are a couple from Mother 3 that have irregular meter presumably to trip up people who take advantage of the unique on-the-beat combo system. The most notable one that I know if is the battle against the Masked Man.

Also, there are a couple from Mother 3 that have irregular meter presumably to trip up people who take advantage of the unique on-the-beat combo system. The most notable one that I know if is the battle against the Masked Man. Yep, I know what you mean. Earthbound music has weird "random percussion" measures in many songs, which interrupts the battle song to play a little guiro or triangle ditty. If you look at the sheet music for pieces like these, the time signature changes to unusual things like "7/4" or "1/8". It's pretty neat to see all the time signature changes in an Earthbound song. As for Mother 3, it has less of these percussion spasms, but many songs play at irregular rhythms (especially songs later in the game, which really screw you up when trying to combo.) I've seen one song measured in 12/8, and one that has a weird 6/4 measure randomly thrown in (Back Beat Battle, if I recall correctly). Pretty funky music.
