I had Mario Paint on an old SNES emulator about 3 years ago (how I got it I can't remember) and made a couple of goofy songs with Mario Paint pictures to go with them. One example was a poorly rendered Dukes of Hazzard theme with this drawing: Magrog's crappy drawingA computer virus caused me to lose everything, and about three months ago I started missing my Mario Paint so I googled it and stumbled upon Mario Paint Composer. So I downloaded it and made a few songs. Then about a month ago I was on YouTube and for some silly reason I did a search on "Mario Paint", and Wow! My life has not been the same since. For the past month I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly (not to mention the totally awesome and crazy). So I watched about a million tutorials on how to edit/upload vids (never had done it before) until I found a way that worked on a laptop that will not record from speakers (which I have yet to figure out if it is even possible at all on this laptop). "And that's what I did on my summer vacation..." ;D

For me, I was searching up random stuff on YouTube and happened upon A LOT of Mario Paint songs. I thought... hmmm, maybe I could do some of that! And in almost no time, the "Get Smart Theme on Mario Paint Composer" went up (which, by the way, I don't exactly like very much and am planning to improve), and then my other MPC videos started trickling in. I actually did Lego Tutorials before this, and before those, Stop-Motion animation. I still do them, just that MPC is kind of my focus at this point, since I really like music. (and other stuff)

As a trumpet player, I really wanted to learn how to play Gerudo Valley. But I searched all over the internet and couldn't find anything close to trumpet sheet music. So then I decided, "Hey! Maybe there's a video on Youtube of some guy playing! Then I could see what notes that person plays!" I didn't find that either, but I found Axelrod777's Gerudo Valley rendition in Mario Paint. I forgot about learning how to play that and began work on my first piece (K. Rool Ship Deck from Super Smash Bros Brawl).

I read about TBB in Nintendo Power, and then I checked him out. I was really impressed by what he could do to all of these awesome video game songs, but I was even more impressed with all of those limitations he had to deal with but still surpassed. I thought "That looks really fun, but I can't work with those kinds of limits!". Then I found Mario Paint Composer. I believe it was one of Cat's Pokemon videos that I saw first. A simple Google search (why can't other people do this instead of asking me with a pm?) revealed it to be a free and easy download. Most of the songs I completed in the few weeks prior I uploaded the day I got a video capturing device, and I streadily improved upon my methods. And... well... here I am ;D Fun fact: I once left a comment on one of Cat's videos asking how to make flats/sharps. He ignored me I then proceeded to figure it out for myself. TBB was in Nintendo Power? Wow, that guy's more famous than I thought.

I really can't remember which exactly was the first mario paint video I found on YouTube. But I think it was one of HCBailly's. As I found mostly video game music, I decided to try making a video by myself and chose the monkey island theme. HCBailly's tutorial helped me a bit - mainly the part about recording. Then I decided to focus on movie score, which lead to my various Pirates of the Caribbean arrangements. I also do some video game music, but most of the well-known pieces are already taken, so I rather continue doing movie score and some original composing.

Well, I really became interested after watching some of Lolo's awesome renditions (of special note is the Hyrule Castle!) and then not being able to find the Molgera Battle theme... So that's where I started.

I woke up one morning and said, 'I'm gonna paint something with Mario today!' And I've had 20 and counting Megaman compositions since that day.

LoloGuru and fenix85066 inspired me to start. All videos of LoloGuru and Chaos Angel Zone from fenix. About 8 months ago or so...

I stumbled across cat333pokemon's Uxie/Mesprit/Azelf video, and got totally hooked (U/M/A battle is my favorite from D/P [and presumably Platinum]). I found MPC and tried my hand at it, and after a few failed attempts (which I never posted, BTW), I got the R/B/Y Gym Leader theme. And the rest... is fairly self-explanatory. Here I am fifty-odd videos later...
