I'll just set a few rules for this competition.
RULES
1. Your compositions must be original.
2. MPC 2.0 only.
3. Allowed soundfonts: Original, Mochi (and all derivatives), Orchestra (and all derivatives), Real (and all derivatives), Hard Rock (1-2.n), Piano (Volcan's or Gallahaut's), Electronica (And all derivatives), NES SF (AWPWR's or Phazon's), and finally, Any mixture of these soundfonts, (e.g. mixing instruments, replacing some instruments with octaves of others, etc.)
4. Rounds will be as follows.
a. If 16 participants are amassed, then Round 1 of the tournament will be a standard 1 v. 1 matchup, following all above rules. Round 2 will be the low-tempo round. (MUST NOT EXCEED 1000.) Round 3 will be 2 v. 2. That is, of the four, two pairs will work on two teamwork OC's. (They must each be at least 3 minutes long, try not to rely too heavily on looping parts just to add length.) The two teamwork comps will be evaluated, and the winning pair will face off for round 4, in which anything goes (while still following rule 1, and within reason.)
5. Round 1 is 3 weeks long. Round 2 is 1 month long. Semifinal round is 1 month long. The final round will be as long as needed, but a timeframe will be decided upon by the final 2 contestants. This timeframe will be kept. NO extensions longer than 2 days.
6. There will be a panel of 3 Judges. Myself (head judge, responsible for writing a long review of each composition), Pwnzin8r (judge, can write a long review of each composition, but isn't obligated to.) And Herty140. (Same as Pwnzin8r)
(And no, the fact that I'm calling myself head judge does not mean I get more than 1 vote in decisions. I get 1 vote and that's it.)
7. This tournament will begin on July 1st, at which time I will post the official Round 1 video. Anyone who wishes to enter, PM me.
(Don't post directly in this thread. This thread will be used for evaluation of compositions and tournament updates.) First come, first serve. If 16 is not reached, only the first 8 applications will be accepted.
a. If you decide, before July first, that you don't want to enter, let me know so I can accept the next person in line.
8. You must either record your entry yourself, or have one of the judges do it.
9. tl;dr, this tournament is going to be awesome and unorthodox.
