I hate it when I get script errors in the middle of composing a song. I have no clue why it happens; sometimes it fixes itself, and sometimes I have to re-download the whole program.
I did discover one thing, though. You can still save your new songs if you get a script error! When it says "Script error. Continue?" Click "yes". Save your song under the name of a song that already exists on your file list, such as "MySong" or "lame". At least you won't lose your data this way.

...? I mean, on occasion when I'm laying down some... I don't know, heavy strings like in the Sun Rises, I sometimes get them, but when I click yes nothing really changes, it just scrolls me back to the beginning. But I've never had to re-download the program...
... Yeah. It'll happen one of these days and I'll be like, "ZOMG MY MARIO PAINT BROKE I'M IN A REALLY BAD MOOD NOW DON'T POST ON THIS THREAD UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND ME KILLING YOU."
Or something like that... ;D

I have a question... Why are you guys just now noticing this? It happens all the time. Whether I need to record for someone, or I'm editing the txt files.

The only time I get script errors is when I'm trying to name a file with an invalid character (e.g. = or &). And that's the only time. Only. ONLY!

Here are some ways to get script errors: -Click on an unmarked area when selecting something -Try to load a song with none of the songs highlighted -Click too many places too fast -Load a song with too many measures programmed into it and play it past measure 96 (or 126, I think) -Mess around with the txt files and add too many notes to a line (6 is fine, 7 will cause a script error) -When messing with the txt files, leave out a colon ( between two lines of notes and the thing will say script error when you get to that note. -In the txt files, type in characters that aren't usually in them. -As Levus28 pointed out, try to name a song with an invalid character All you have to do, when it says "Script Error: Continue?" is to click yes, stop the song as quickly as possible if it's playing, save your work, and mess with the txt files to check for continuity. This happens to me all the time and I have to go to my Prefs folder a lot, too. It usually happens to me when I copy-paste stuff in txt format or when I edit in txt format.

Why is this topic stickied? We already have a ton of sticky topics on the front page. Maybe you admins should get rid of this one.
