Apparently, according to the review from Game Informer magazine, Metriod Other M was a complete fail. It got a 6.25 rating.
I'd post the entire review, but it's really long, so I'll do that on a later date.
But, yeah... I have yet to play the game. I won't believe this review until I actually play the game. Anyone on here get the game yet?

Lite has it and says it's amazing, but that's to be expected from him.

be wary of game informer, they're usually biased against games that won't push a lot of copies at gamestop (since the magazine is owned by gamestop)
this is the same magazine that gave paper mario ttyd a 6.75 for not being mainstream enough, after all

I beat it and thought it was amazing. I cannot get ENOUGH of the fighting style, I think it is so versatile that it's addicting. When I go back into rooms I've been in before where enemies have reappeared, I almost always go out of my way to kill them again X-D
I also very much love the game having cutscenes, which I must assume is what Game Informer was probably yapping about. I always thought that Metroid games could make fantastic movies with their storylines, and so I loved sitting back and watching this story unfold in movie format 8-D They made it really dramatic and cool, and the graphics were quite realistic. It actually seemed necessary to me for them to make cutscenes because as this game was supposed to fill in the holes chronologically about how Samus knows Adam, a lot of it probably needed to be shown explicitly for people to understand. It also helps players latch on to the emotion a lot more.
I do feel that the story and the game could still have been extended a little further, but overall I think the way this game is set up (with a 3rd person view in a 3D world and with cutscenes) is something that was needed in this already awesome franchise. I would certainly recommend it :-)

I've beaten it and I thought it was a good game. Yes it's different in it's fighting style and everything, but it's not completely ruined by change. It's feels about as linear as Fusion to me, so it's not bad in that sense or anything. This isn't a perfect game by any means, but it isn't absolutely horrible like everyone says it is.

Speaking of stupid reviewers, G4 lady hated this game because it was sexist. :I
