I mean, why do we NOT have a Goodbye/Vacation board, or why HASN'T ANYONE thought of it?
XD.

Well, it's not a super-important board. And if anyone is leaving, they can just make a thread or something. You know, like WeeJay did when he left.

Yeah, true, but it makes for better organization.
Like for example, during summer or winter breaks, when everyone leaves for vacation, the general board clutters up.

Perhaps a sticky in the general thread is more suited to this.

*suggests changing the introductions board into a "Hello / Goodbye Board" for those who need to introduce themselves AND for those who are gonna be gone for a while*

Nah, keep the introductions board as it is I reckon. But I like the idea of a goodbye board.. Maybe make it a sub board in the General board?
Edit: Actually, I just read what Kace said. Good point, I agree.

XD Anyway, I agree with both Taco, and Balloon. It's nothing really vital, but if it is done, I'd think it'd work best combined with the Introduction board.

Revived because of recent events - I think this would be a great place for people (or mods) to announce fellow members leaving the MPMH, either temporarily or for good, as long as they don't cause a big fuss about it.

If we had that sort of board, it would be saying that we expect people to say goodbye and leave.. Yes I understand that if you're going on a vacation it might be a tad useful, but in light of the current scenario, I just don't think that would be the case. You COULD always make a thread about your trip to x or my service in y, but that's not really something to center a whole (sub)board around.
As you've seen, an announcement of a member's farewell always comes with a reason. Someone disputing the reason is and unfortunate and ineluctable result. This in turn creates more controversy which leads to more harm than good and eventually someone is going to call it's quits as well.
If it was just a single "Member is leaving for this amount of time" then that thread is basically death notice in a newspaper and the board becomes an obituary.
We can say as a forum that we want to keep ALL of members (no matter how much they get on our nerves). With a Goodbye Board, it constantly reminds them "Here's the door. You can walk out any time".
EDIT: Good idea going to the Suggestions, ninja. We need more of them.

That's very true, and I can see where you're coming from. I feel like "General Board" has this connotation that people can post essentially venting treads about others because it's for "general purposes", and "Goodbye board" gives off a more pleasant connotation - people will be more willing to calm down and say adieu for a short time instead of yelling at everyone and it's mother. But I can see where you're coming from too - it gives a negative and ominous message.
And yeah, this board, like many things in this forum, need some more use -_-
