Hi all, guess there isn't much point in pointing out that I'm new here xD but does anyone know of a way to synchonize paint songs? Let's say I want to create four different songs that will play together at the exact same starting moment and the same tempo - one will have percussion, one the baseline, one the melody/harmony, and one the descant. How do you synch them up? I also asked AshWilliams01 who posted an example here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzr9K-DW860so if he responds and is okay with others using his technique, I'll post it to this topic.

I thought it was just separately recorded, and then placed together into one video using a video editing program; the audio was overlayed.
The main issue and difficulty in doing this is that you need a computer fast enough not to have any "hidden lag" during recording a song, or else when you put them together, there will start to be some out-of-sync-ness.
A solution is recording many short segments, but that could be tiresome...
There's probably a better way of doing this. <<

I would say that you should record the 4 segments separately, and then somehow stack them. So far as I know, that user is the only one who's ever done anything like that, so he's probably the best for you to ask.

yeah well i guess that's what i'm getting at my question could have been phrased better, let me try again: "Does anyone know of an effective way to link four separate playback videos together in perfect sync?" from the video i linked, there are two ways i can imagine: - brute force trial and error, editing the videos again and again until the sync is so perfect that they appear to be playing together perfectly at the end of the playback
- some sort of editing technique that ties the video recorder to MP's start button
if it's the latter, anyone have ideas? EDIT: This should have gone in the "Pushing it to the Limit" section, my mistake. EDIT: Great now that song's in my head. timetraveler.ytmnd.com

Download a trial of Sony Vegas (google) and you can put each one on a layer and crop them into four different corners.
If you like Sony Vegas, then you can fork out $400 to buy it.
Incase you were wondering, Sony Vegas is a video editor.
If you want, you can send me the videos and I can do it for you.

As Levus suggested, Sony Vegas works well. I have Adobe Premiere Elements on another computer and it accomplishes the same task.

If you run high-res (1600x1200 or higher) and you're talking about Mario Paint Composer, you could do kinda like I've done in my vids. Just open up 4 separate windows, put them in the corners of the screen, and use a macro program to click all four play buttons at once. Only problem is that it may take a few tries for all four windows to sync perfectly. If you don't have a macro program, you can download MacroMaker for free; it's what I use. If you need help using it, let me know and I'll be happy to help. I hope this forum doesn't mind bumping very much, I know this is near the bottom.

Macros! I never thought of that!
My two-window Metroid Prime: Echoes piece can now be released!
Wait... that's right, my comp has generic integrated soundcard. Dammit.

Maybe putting them in four corners isn't such a good idea. Maybe you should layer the other windows on top of each other. Make one solid and the others transparent, that could probably mask the desyncing problem, but (probably) only through error of judgment. If not, you could always run it through VirtualDub remove the sound and reapply the sound somewhere so that it resyncs. Did anyone get that? Oh hai Millhouse, still not a meme yet eh? On-topic, no I didn't get any of this. I'm just stupid. You could try using Audacity to sync the audio then sync it over the videos when you video edit. That way, you know it sounds and looks right.

I'm going to have to ask... I have Vista. MacroMaker no work on Vista. Anyone know what I can do? I promised to record this double-window, double-soundset(>.>) piece for someone.
