Another quick poll (I love these things; you get to find out a lot about people that you wouldn't know otherwise). Anyway, what sort of music do you like to compose? Fast pieces? Slow pieces? Boss fights? Sad themes? Simple? Complex? Post any preferences about your composition material here.
As for me, I've tried a variety of things, but my compositions are predominantly boss fights and dungeon themes (the latter being because I made it an objective to do all dungeons of the 3 Zelda games on Game Boy). I generally like active, upbeat pieces with a lot of moving parts without stagnation, but that is by no means the only kinds of pieces I like to compose.

Mainly stage music for games I played as a little kid- MM, MMX, and SOM in particular.
Also, I do rather enjoy doing real songs in MPC and having them come out sounding nice with synthetic sounds.

I like to compose stuff that I like to listen to. So, complex themes, etc. will likely come up, as well as simple themes that are catchy. I have an inclination toward pieces with a strong "backbone" beat, such as ragtime music, but not too strong. Syncopation is fun as well, though there are MANY other pieces that I'd like to and have already done.
