I've tried to find great samples of those for a while but I was never able to find something very useful. Well except one time, now that I think about it... but it's been a while and I don't believe I have it anymore.
It's just a matter of browsing nearly every result that comes up when searching "ethnic soundfonts" or "koto samples", I suppose. Good luck, and sorry I can't really help. :c

For Asian instruments, I recommend the VST Sakura. It has a bunch of plucked, bowed, string instruments. Shakuhachi (The flute) and a bunch of other great instruments. I haven't searched through the percussion yet, so I don't know if it has or lacks the taiko drum or any other Japanese percussion instrument. But it's really great.

However, if you've got a patched version or a keygen for it, I'd be extremely grateful if you could link it to me. Well, there's a demo. That's what I use and nothing has happened to it yet. The only thing that happens to the demo is that every few minutes, it will silence out. (Not a bug with the program, it's supposed to do that.) You can still use it to synthesize stuff.

I'll see how to fix this. I've never had the problem. (Unless of course... you've already fixed it yourself. lol)

Just so you aren't confused, I want it set it so the instruments don't echo and I want the notes to be staccato. For me, too much bleeding of the notes will ruin the song I'm making.
