I want to minorly edit the original soundfont.

Specifically, I want to have the stars at about half volume so I can create a very special piece. I basically need to have the stars going on during the entire piece, so simply changing the volume with volume bars is out.

However, I am utterly clueless about how I would go about doing that. Help? Even if it's just sending me a soundfont but I'm not supposed to ask. Anyway, I'm up for trying to make this minor change with a little guidance.

Ok well basicly you have to edit the soundfont using viena (which can be found on this board). Find "presets" and go preset 3 (the star in MPC). Click on it and press "global".
You should now see a grid, find "attenuation" and type in a number in the cell next to it. Make sure it is in the "global" column. Write something like 4-6 would be appropriate, depending on how much quieter you want it to be. Now save it and it should work.

Testing, it's going to take even more attenuation than 4 or 6, but I'll be able to do this.
