How would you do this? I already have Viena (and have figured out how to shuffle around presets from different soundfonts). I just need a louder timpani for my 100 subscriber song.

I don't use Viena very well, but I think it's like Positive and Negative Accentuation...

I don't know how to raise the volume if a sample, but I do know how to increase the volume in an instrument and thus in MPC. What I found effective was going into instrument and adding samples to the instrument. I think in symph that would be Mushroom0, right-click timpani(L), copy, click on Mushroom0, and paste.

In viena go to the instruments field and type in the box "attenuation" how much you want the volume up or down. Adding positve attenuation makes it quieter and adding negative attenuation makes it louder. However, sometimes adding negative attenuation dosn't make a diffirence even if you put 7000+ on it, so if that dosen't work use more samples on the intstrument, like 3 or 4.

Sorry about the double post. Attentuation doesn't work in this case . I tried copy-pasting the sample but that didn't seem to work either. When I selected paste the screen refreshed and the triangle sample was highlighted. Any other advice?

Here's what I did for Going the distance (for me it wasn't loud enough either). I right-clicked the instrument (Mushroom0 for my case) and clicked "new instrument splits" and added some layers to the timpani. This made it louder. You can do that as much as you want until it's loud enough; though there may be a limit or something. I'm not sure.
Also, if it's the Symphony Timpani, it definitely helps to put Timpani(R) in there. I'm not sure why Cat only put (L) in his instruments, but yeah.

...Although that may have been what Kace meant to say in the first place. You're welcome.
