I've found that MPC doesn't always render soundfonts correctly like Viena does.

Yeah, like I was going to make a piano/strings soundfont, but I couldn't because the piano was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too quiet.

I'm starting to get the feeling that MPC dosn't interpret soundfonts properly, for example, the coins and the boo's. Those are the only two instruments in MPC that dont cut off the note before them, so the low A glitch dosn't work with them. Usualy in viena you have to set the release time, but MPC does that automaticly.

I used to have this same problem. I also thought that negative attenuation would fix it, but it didn't once I opened MPC. Then, with a little fiddling, I discovered this-- In Viena, I've found the easiest way to increase the volume of a preset is to click and highlight the preset in the list you want louder, then right-click on it, select add preset layers from the menu, and then select the instrument that preset is currently using. Voila, double the volume. Repeat for more loudness! If that makes the sound too loud, then you can always go back to that sound in the instrument list and attenuate it positively from there to quiet it down. Always works, at least it has for me. Hope this helped!

Let's say I want a low acoustic guitar and a high acoustic guitar, both from Real.
They both use the same instrument, "Plane0". How would I change the octaves of only ONE of the presets, when there's only one instrument to choose from?

Ah ok, because negative attenuation always works.

All this stuff is so useful. I'm thinking about making a quartet soundfont, and I think it's possible now. All I need to do is find really high quality samples. With what I'm doing now, my mind is completely on Classical Music, and I have the urge to spread that into compositions.
