Hi folks, as there were quite a bunch of bugs in the recent Beta release, I've made another one before I start to migrate the AMS to OpenGL. I fixed the crash when you load a song for the second time. SoundFont names are now stored correctly, and the SoundFont configuration is loaded correctly when you open a file. I also reenabled the "Add SoundFont" menu item. I also included a small new feature: You can now decide if the notes of an instrument should be muted automatically as soon as the next note comes - or if the notes should be holded until a mute note comes or the wave dies off. This works as follows: Click on an instrument in the instrument bar while holding SHIFT. the frame will turn green, which indicates that the instrument notes will be holded. Click another time while holding shift, and the instrument goes back to normal. And that's all. Note that the instrument configuration will NOT be stored in the song file. As MediaFire seems to be down (or at least unreachable here), I uploaded the files to my own web server. Please be patient with it, it's not that fast. Windows Version: www.apfelsoft.net/felix/AMS_Beta3.2_Win32.7zMacOSX Version: www.apfelsoft.net/felix/AMS_Beta3.2_MacOSX.7zIf you have problems with opening the files, use: On Windows: 7zipOn MacOSX: 7zXCheers!

Funny that it worked for everyone until now, I basically didn't change anything. If nothing works, you can compile the library yourself and overwrite my dll file with your self-compiled one. I used this guide for building fluidsynth: www.mail-archive.com/fluid-dev@nongnu.org/msg00745.html

I don't really want to get into nitty gritty things that have to do with errors popping up. Can't somebody just get a fluidsynth thing that works and let people download it? It would save a lot of people including myself, the trouble of having to do those things to get this program working.

Been using this for a while for fun, but I'm seriously starting to compose on it. Where do I save the files though? I can't really find a certain folder that I'm supposed to save to. I'm using Vista by the way.

I tried to, but it's hard to tell if a library will work on another PC, isn't it? I can only test it on the PCs I have access to, which are quite a few, but I can't test it on every configuration. I also don't know the reason why the library file I contained with the download doesn't work on some PCs, so I don't have any idea how I can compile one that works everywhere. Moo: You're supposed to save the files anywhere you want. Word doesn't tell you where to save your documents either, does it?

well, do you have to use a fluidsynth? or, maybe, you know, this is just hypothetical, but maybe the final game could be next instead of just a beta 3.3. i understand that it must be challenging to make this, but what else could be next for the beta 3.3?

Betas are also made to weed out errors ya know...

well yea, but i mean, there has been 3 with multiple versions to each beta.....i dunno. one would think that all glitches and errors would be sorted out by now.

well yea, but i mean, there has been 3 with multiple versions to each beta..... Nobody reported the error until this release, so I thought everything was fine. And yes, I have to use fluidsynth, for two reasons: 1. It's the best tool available. 2. All the folks here are used to SoundFonts, so there is no point in dropping SoundFont support along with fluidsynth. Make sure to read the thread about the future of the AMS.

yea i read it and believe me it sounds like it will be amazing, but if it doesnt work for 2 or 3 people on just the website, it wont work for alot of other people in the world who might use it.......i dunno

I downloaded this a day or so ago, and I have to say I'm impressed. I'd use it more than MPC2.0, however, if it didn't have a tendency to lag and skip after the tempo changes. Also, I can't find any way to remove a soundset from the new drop-down menu. And this is just a suggestion, but is there any way to splice imported songs from MPC? Like, when you import a file, it could ask you if you wanted to attach that file onto the end of the file you're currently working on? That could be useful to people who previously used MPC2.0's arranger feature.
