Tempo gap problem time: The tempo I'm using for Megaman Starforce 2 Boss battle, 2300, falls in the middle of a tempo gap, and when I increase it to the breaking point, 2728, it's WAAAAAAAAAAAY too fast. Does the problem only show up when recording or something? 2308 is the closest breaking point to that, not 2728.

Even though it's in another tempo gap, it didn't affect the song at all. Got it recorded with no lag that a tempo gap could cause.

that's because 2600 is nearly identical to 2308

I'm not quite sure I really get what to do in the case of a tempo gap.
I get what it means though.

I'm not quite sure I really get what to do in the case of a tempo gap. I get what it means though. What I do is I'll find the tempo I need, check this thread to see if the tempo falls into a tempo gap, then I'll increase the tempo to the breaking point and see if the effect it has on the song makes it better or worse. If the effect is better, then I'll keep the tempo at the breaking point; if not, I'll leave the tempo in the tempo gap. I've actually found tempo gaps to be helpful on some occasions.

I think there's one between 1640 and 1730. I'm not sure though.

Ugh... I just sent someone some .txt files so he could record for me. The tempo was at 2722, six away from the breaking point, 2728. I didn't realize it until he had sent me the video with a horribly dragged tempo. I asked to have him rerecord after I fix all of the tempos...the song is 32 .txt files long.

I believe I have found a breaking point: 2609. While working on MMX4 Iris battle earlier today, I originally tried 2308, but that was too slow, so I upped it to 2728, but that was too fast. I then noticed a speed difference from the 2308 tempo gap around the 2600 range. I started slowly decreasing the tempo (since I was at 2622 when I noticed the difference.) After the slow decrease, I found a major speed difference at 2608-2609. Therefore, 2609 is the breaking point to the 2308 tempo gap. That also means that 2728 is the breaking point for the gap between it and 2609.

I knew there was something between there. Wasn't sure though.

Can anyone verify this?

Ho ho! I believe I've found another one. Between 2858 and 3530, there was a spot that sounded like it was getting slightly faster. I checked around, and BINGO! I found it. The new breaking point to the 2858 tempo gap is 3334. Now, from 3335 to 3530 should be its own tempo gap.
EDIT AT KACE'S REQUEST: BP: 3334. The gap: 2858-3333 WHICH MEANS: BP: 3530 Gap: 3335-3529.
Now for the other one I found earlier: BP: 2609. Gap: 2308-2609 WHICH MEANS: BP: 2728 Gap: 2610-2728
Hope that's not as confusing for you, kace.

I believe there is a tempo gap between 14000 and 10000. Someone please confirm, because I don't want to edit files for forever to get past the 9999 tempo limit

uhm... sorry to sound like a jerk, but...
1) That's a very large tempo range 2) That's tempos that shouldn't ever be needed. ever. Why even bother?

MAYBE FOR A PARODY SONG JERK EVER THOUGHT OF THAT? ??////QUESTIONMARK NOW BE A GOOD BOY AND CONFIRM IT @pokesonic: If you could format your post (because I never really understood any of this) into how to the first post is, I could edit that first post for you. same goes for the rest of the finders.

Fine, make me not be lazy =P (sorry for being really lazy though)
Anyways, I want higher tempo gaps confirmed because when I get my hands on a score of Polovtsian Dances I'll so want to try that song (or I might make a parody =P). It has parts with 2 or 3 time signatures interlocking with each other, and I will probably want higher tempos to simulate it better.
I will try to confirm any gaps between 10000 and 30000 for this purpose.
