To anyone wanting to compile fluidsynth by themselves, I found this guide to be very helpful. It works perfectly now. This guide is very good indeed. For me, there was one thing to do for compiling not mentioned in the guide: From the DirectX SDK folder (normally C:\Program Files\Microsoft DirectX SDK (March 2008)), I had to move the file lib\x86\dsound.lib and the file include\dsound.h to the Microsoft SDKs folder ( C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v.6.0A) into the corresponding bin / Lib folder there. This is of course a bit of an effort, but it's quite straightforward, so most of you could probably do this. Just copy the resulting fluidsynth.exe and fluidsynth.dll to the AMS folder, and you're done. I will, of course, look for a better solution anyway.

>Measure numbers; you gotta have those, especially for dickspeed users.
No problem.
>The volume bars at the bottom control the master volume instead of the note volume.
Lol, I never noticed it behaved like this. I will of course fix this.
>Soundfont box has the default focus. When I use arrow keys to what-should-be-navigate through my song, it switches up the soundfont instead.
Well, navigating with arrow keys isn't implemented anyway. If you want to have this, it won't be very difficult to add.
>Right click only erases the instrument if you've currently got it selected.
I think I've done this because I used the MPC on a Mac and had no right click feature at all, so I was used to use the eraser. I thought it would be a good method to erase an instrument located behind another instrument without erasing that one. Perhaps I should do it the other way round, because the normal eraser will probably be used more often than the erase-instrument-feature.
>Keybind Alt to rest notes
That's a good idea.
I will include those changed in the next version I'll release. But I first want to take care of the sound problem.

Why is the rum gone?No idea. That's my favorite joke from Pirates of the Caribbean. Anyway, I love the program! A couple things I have to say: - Two words: right click. ;D
I'm not sure if you knew this, but regular MPC had that feature as well.

Thoughts: -It's too quiet, could you raise the default volume a bit? -It occasionally closes for no reason when it gets to the end of the song. -The way the right click works can be useful, but also very annoying. Maybe make it so you can switch between the old way and this one? -When you fix the few problems that it has, this will be amazing. Definitely superior to MPC.

I'm not sure if you knew this, but regular MPC had that feature as well. Yeah, I knew that. I use it all the time. But I really like the new feature where it only wipes the current instrument. Ford's idea in his latest post is even better, because I did get a little annoyed by it and had to use the eraser, which is faster than individually selecting unwanted instruments. Swap right click and the eraser and it will be perfect! ;D On a side note, do you have any idea why Apple didn't ever implement a second mouse button on the Mac? Even after PCs started using it a lot, Apple retained the old single-button style, forcing many users to either do things the long way, by using Control-click or the menus. I don't believe the right button on the standard Microsoft Mouse (just about any mouse that has two buttons and sometimes a wheel is labeled as one) works on Mac. I might be wrong, though.

Right mouse buttons work perfectly on a Mac, they are handled just the same way as Ctrl-click. I'm using a Logitech G5 on my Mac. The MacBooks have the option to lay 2 fingers on the touchpad and click on the button to simulate a right click (I don't know how this is done on the new MacBooks with no button at all). You can still use Ctrl-click and right click for different actions if you check the Ctrl button's state when the right click event fires. You can't distinguish between a Ctrl-click and a Ctrl-right click, though.
Oh and by the way: I will probably set the instrument-dependent eraser to Shift+right click, normal right click will be the normal eraser - with the difference that the normal eraser mode locks to notes even if your current mouse position is one position (up or down) away from the note.

That would be nice. And I guess I was mistaken. Oh well, everyone makes mistakes!

I've encountered a problem,
When I shut down the sequencer, Fluid synth continues running. Which leaves my computer nearly frozen! So I have to go to the tskmngr and end that process...
I also have an idea!
you should be able to right click on a note placed in the song, then be able to adjust singular note volume! So that user that like to have quiet background sounds, wouldn't have to use dickspeed!
btw! AWESOME!

Volume for single notes was already proposed several times and won't happen, because it would make the interface too complicated. But I have an idea for some improvement in volume managing... I won't explain it now, I'll first get another beta released, which will call the fluidsynth library directly, so that the problem with the fluidsynth process will be fixed too.

Just as with MPC. Shift + click = Sharp Ctrl + Click = Flat
Update on this version: I like the AMS Experimental Version !

Works great, and looks like it will be completely awesome when it's done.
Pretty much everything has been said, I think, except:
-The program randomly closes when you use Stop.

-The program randomly closes when you use Stop. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that; I noticed it when making SMB3: Athletic. It started hogging my computer when about four of them were running, which I only noticed because of the CPU degradation.

If anyone's interested, you can convert original Mario Paint Composer files to the Advanced Mario Sequencer format using a Python script that I wrote. You will need to install Python if you don't have it though. Details on this thread. EDIT: you can now download a windows binary if you don't have Python.

Teh music wont sound Wut am i doing wrong?Well, we'll start with the fact that you're reviving a 4-month-old topic, asking a question that has already been answered by the program's creator.

ENG: i find this not related to the thread, but is to Balloon303, About the Pigs on Hard Rock 2. Pigs would work in MPC, But they dont work on AMS. I think balloon will check that out: ยท(|8)[]: ESP: esto no esta relacionado con el post, pero es para Balloon303, Acerca de los chanchos en el Hard Rock 2. Los cerdos funcionan en MPC, pero no lo hacen en AMS. Creo que Balloon303 se dara cuenta de eso,
