PS: I figured this was the best part of the forum to ask this

I'm not too sure what it is either. :/ There was going to be a news report about it, but I had to leave for school before I could see it. All I know is that it's supposed to be very wide spread, and those who have the virus got it before today, and it's just being activated today, or something like that.

I heard about this and they made some partial April Fools joke and said you will get a mutation in your 54th chromosome XP We don't even have 54 chromosomes. But, yeah.

It's a naughty little fib told by microsoft to trick you gullible little people into downloading their updates which will turn your computer into a TV.
That, or it's a duff virus that won't work.
I like both ideas.

Pesky, no-life criminals sending the world viruses. I haven't gotten any, but I think my English teacher did a couple days ago. :/

They've already taken over the House of Commons, along with about 15 million other computers.
According to Wikipedia, it's the worst virus since the SQL Slammer in 2003.

Good thing I haven't been slammed with this virus, then. My dad would phucking kill me if I accidentaly downloaded the virus. So far, nothing suspicious has hit my inbox. *Looks around suspiciously*

I've had some viruses in the past, especially on our old 98 machine when I was download-happy. I'm so glad I found the install CD for it soon after!
I've also been hit with the AntiVirus 2008 virus, but that one was fairly easy to get rid of.
But as for Conficker, nope.

I got hit with AntiSpyStorm on my old computer. It was a bad piece of rogue software, and it nearly ruined the machine. This is because it downloaded a bunch of Zlobs and Vundos onto my system - two types of VERY nasty Trojans.
All because I had McAfee at the time!
I guess the best thing about this ordeal was that it made me more cautious about browsing the internet. Now, I just use MyWOT, a Firefox add-on that "rates" the safety of websites. Very useful.
