I played violin starting around age 4 until I graduated high school. I also tried taking piano lessons, but eh, not so good at that one.

Oh, and I sing a lot, but mostly when nobody's paying attention. :b

Self taught pianist, I compose my own music and play keyboard along with it, I've been playing guitar for 1 year and I'm part of 4 different vocal groups including a barbershop quarter, acapella team and choir.

As I'm self taught, I know no music theory, but I can still play around with stuff regardless of whether I know what it is or not :3

Hm. Sort of. It depends, really.

I took organ lessons around the age of 7, and despised every minute of it. I learned nothing by way of theory, and taught myself certain songs by listening rather than reading sheet music. Gave it up after a couple of years.

Played harmonica. Badly. As in, recently-dumped-lover-picking-up-an-acoustic-guitar-for-the-first-time-in-their-life-and-writing-a-laughably-bad-love-so ng-in-order-to-get-their-significant-other-back bad. It mysteriously disappeared soon afterward.

I got into choir around 8th grade, continued it into high school and college. To date, I've been in six different choirs. I took several years of music theory along with performing. I also played around a lot with an electronic keyboard I had, ranging from church songs to popular songs to songs I just pretended to know how to play. Whatever.

Now, you could say I am more into percussion. Mostly because I suck at rhythm and picking out most percussion related things in a song, and hope that being into this stuff will help me not to suck. I play zills/sagat (finger cymbals) when I dance. It sounds simple, but trust me, sustaining a triplet pattern (or any other rhythm) while dancing to the beat can be quite the bitch.

I also own a darbuka (middle eastern goblet drum) that I practice with. I'm not very good at it, but then, I just don't have the time right now. Once I get enough hours, I intend to take some days off of work to devote to improving my skill.

Piano since 2002. Taking a little break from lessons and am now self-teaching myself some pieces.

Trumpet since 2009, mainly because of PopTart :3

I'm probably a musician, even if I'm only 15 years old. I have played the Euphonium (Tuba) since 6th grade and Baritone since 2nd grade. I'm really into music and sheets etc. I read G clef, and I can read F and C clef along with some other I can't name in English. I'm also thinking about going on a music school on collage, this year.
I can play Euph/Baritone/Tuba and I know how to play the Guitar, different percs and Piano. I'm also often transposing stuff or re-writing stuff to friends, like a big orchestra piece I'm going to use on a project at my school. I also make YTPMVs, which probably mostly everyone in this forum knows about.

I have been a guitarist for 5 years. I play metal and nothing else. The reason I compose on mario paint is actually because some of the music I compose is too difficult for me to play on guitar.

I mainly played keyboard for a while, but by ear. I didn't read sheet music, I listened and played stuff on there (mainly music I like; rock and stuff like that :P). And then I got a Flying V guitar for Christmas and have been callicising my fingers on it ever since. I also like to sing, and sometimes, I will even bang away on a drum set
