It has been an extremely long time since I've posted anything on this site (Been doing various kinds of research, no time to make any MPC compositions), but with the "Meet The Pyro video for TF2 being on the horizon and all the Dr. Grordbort weapon updates, I have a very solid theory on the identity of the Pyro.

He, or rather it, is a genderless space alien.

Think about the confusing gender identity the Pyro seems to have. While everyone, me included, has originally thought that he was insane or thinking he was a woman, I think now that it is an extraterrestrial trying to understand how us humans dress and act, that's why he sometimes acts as both as a man or woman, because he doesn't know any better.

Next, think about all the weapons from the Dr. Grordbort packs. If you've read one of the many comics on the TF2 site, you'll see that most of them came from a rocket or capsule from outer space, which might explain why the technology in those weapons is far more superior than the normal weapons in the game. In addition to this, two of the hats for the Pyro are a brain slug and a space helmet, both of which are related to space or space travel in some way. Plus, only the Pryo has the space helmet.

If my theory is correct, in the "Meet The Pryo" video if the Pryo removes his helmet, he will reveal that he isn't human.

Take this information as you will, as after all, it IS just a theory.

EDIT: The Pyromania Update just announced a new map called Doomsday which has a large space rocket in it as the major landmark of the map. This seems to be further proving my theory. If the Pyro happens to be an alien, I will be one happy camper.

There is also the possibility that the Pyro might be an Australium enhanced monkey, specifically the monkeynaut Poopy Joe. They seem to be focusing a lot on that in this update.
