The "Releases" thread is touched like once every 2 weeks...... which almost seems like the most active thread at this point (set aside threads that complain about shitty things like the whole french fiasco).
I'll still linger around to see how this goes... but I don't have high hopes for this place to pick up from it's current dumpster. |

i understand that a lot of people try to knock you down, but complaining about it in such a narcissistic way only brings everyone that bothers to read what you type down with you. your social misfit dilemma is something i hardly care for and i wish you wouldn't try to make it seem like it should be a big deal to us. because it isn't.
you need to find a new resolve if you don't understand the point of doing mpc if you're only making them for yourself. either that, or kindly make your way.

The biggest reason why I looked so egocentric, is cuz I'm pretty much the biggest target (if not, please tell me someone else who is being harrassed more... Kev? SNG?). idfk why you guys hate me so much, but I just want you to know that I'm not feeling welcome, and I just wanna know why the hell I'm hated so much here. It's just gotten to the point where I'm considering resignation.

Let's make something clear here. The post began with you complaining about being treated like a 5 year old, but then you go and make a big long post about your feelings like one. MAYBE a 10 year old, and that's as much as I'll give you. As bowsa, lih, and eataninja have all articulated, the onus is on you to realize that the internet is full of people who you won't like and won't like you, and running off and making secret clubs won't solve anything about the problem. The mature thing would be to just realize that we have our differences and that the relative anonymity of internet brings out the extremes of peoples' cynicism. Instead, you choose the 'moody teenager who thinks people on the internet give any semblance of a flying fuck' approach of making rants about how much your feelings are/were/will be hurt and believing that your earnestness will magically change peoples' opinions.
(That it doesn't should be overwhelmingly obvious by now, and if you haven't figured that out by now maybe you should crawl back into your little private skype chat and whine to sympathetic ears about how much strangers on the internet upset you.)

and ftr, I tried making a group where everyone was included... it didn't work... I'm not making some "secret skype group" so I can feel happy about some secret club you're not a part of... no. I did it so that I don't have to put up with bullshit anymore. Because you put yourself in position where people HAVE to be mean to you. Are people too mean to you? Yes. Is it right that people go out of their way to avoid you? Depends on the person - I say no, we deal and move on, but others say yes, and there are merits to both approaches. But when you make posts like this that basically say "I'M A WHINY ASSHOLE WHO THINKS THE WORLD SUCKS I'M GOING TO HIDE IN A CORNER AND CRY WHILE LISTENING TO NICKELBACK RECORDS" people are not naturally going to be nice to you.
Also you're distracting more important discussion by turning this into a self-centered bitchfest, which is a shame, because I would agree with some of what you were saying if you presented it better.
(Also, at the risk of defending GM, during the brief window in which I was on Skype we all left GM's group because we didn't want to deal with him and others. I like the idea of private chats but in retrospect there's no reason why we shouldn't keep a full chat where EVERYONE is present. We can have conversations with who we want in our private enclaves, but in the end we're still supposed to be a community, and as such should have a community chat.)

But anyways, yea, I get that this is the internet but we're still people... it's not like, just cuz we're online and have screenname, we become some cold heartless creature that doesn't have emotions for anything anymore. I'm surprised that any of you would think this way, for the one thing that brought us all together is music, which can bring out the deepest of emotions in people.
But if you're gonna be an asshole just for the sake of being one, and you enjoy it... then go ahead I guess. I figured you'd just do it to everyone then.... It just doesn't make sense to target one person. It's not gonna make people like you though

A very common misconception/redirect of this subject. My point is NOT that everyone on the internet is an asshole, but rather that the capacity for being one is much more accessible. Like in real life, you can choose to avoid the people who annoy you; but also similarly to real life, if you keep walking up to a bully and telling him about how mean he is and how pathetic of a person he is, he's probably gonna deck you. And hey, maybe he is mean and pathetic in your eyes, but he probably also has a bunch of friends of his own; just because you don't get along with someone doesn't mean they are socially inept.
The situation here is very much the same. You come here and complain about how mean we all are, but I think it's clear by now that WE. DON'T. CARE. ABOUT. YOUR. OPINIONS. Sorry for the excessive punctuation (it hurt me to do that), but I wanted to emphasize that in a way bolding or underlining wouldn't be able to do. And, here's a thought: Maybe the reason you get so much negative response is because of your incessant whining.

i think that GM going and making his own skype chat or whatever is a good thing - he doesn't really want to talk to us and we don't really want to talk to him and everyone's happy in their chats with the people they want to talk to. we don't need a 'community chat' with everyone just for the sake it. we've tried that lots of times and it doesn't work and no one likes it.
whatever 'hope' GM has for the community seems misplaced and naive - we're not going to be one homogenous group of people who all get along perfectly, as has been demonstrated time and time again. if you want to bring 'hope back to the community' or whatever, make mario paint videos??? and if you don't enjoy making them and don't want to, don't???
i'm not really sure what you're expecting, anyway, GM. these forums were never that active because the community's been small enough that the skype or chatzy or whatever chats have worked better and there was always plenty of 'horsing around' as you put it. the forums are back to normal now and everyone's in the silly skype chats they want to be, you and i included, so what's the big issue?
whatever issues you have with people personally probably aren't going to change by whining at them - instead realise that really you don't get along with us and we don't get along with you so expecting us to is silly and instead talk to people who you actually do get along with? that's why you made your own chat right?
also no one really thinks you're homophobic, that was levi messing with you because because he enjoys 'horsing around' even more and if he took it too far or whatever take it up with him.
